How to deal with menopause? I am looking for friends that would like to chat with me that has either gone thru it or is going thru it, that maybe able to help me understand or maybe able to give me some advice on how to deal with it. If your going thru it yourself, maybe you would like to become friends and we can help one another. Thanks

Luckily, very luckily, I think I am just getting done with it. If you look at my profile my age is wrong and I keep forgetting to change it, as I will tonight too...lol...anyway... I started very eary...in my early 40's which happens to the women in my family. At first I thought I was going crazy..lol...went through the night sweats, hot and cold during the day, the whole 9 yards. When I couldn't take it any more I was put on (darn I can't think of the name of it) but hormone therapy. Everything thankfully stopped just like that. I was on it for about 2 years when my doctor took me off and I've been fine ever since. Now, I can only tell you my personal experience with it. They say everyone is different which I'm sure is true. I will be happy to talk with you about it and be around for you to chat. I'll request you as a friend and maybe we can im or email each other. This, as you can tell is something I have been through and come out the other end with flying colors....

Thanks for responding and I have added you as my friend. My mother started thru the change around 38, and I am 39. For the past year, I have felt like I am going crazy, with mood swings and feeling helpless has just about wore me out. I have had some hot and cold flashes, but not that bad yet. Mostly really bad mood swings. One minute I am fine and the next, I am either biting someones head off or crying. The doctor has told me that I have the symptoms of menopause but I also had a Uterine Fibroid that could be the cause of my mood swings due to low estrogen. I just don't know..lol Either the doctor is wrong and something else is going on...or I am in for a long hard road...Thanks for your understanding and support.

I am a on a clinical or surgical menopausal stage; had it almost three years now. Immediately a few days after surgery, I suffered hot flushes, insomnia, mild depression, mild body aches, irritability...So far, my hot flushes and insomnia were the two most pronounced symptoms. During wee hours, I wake my daughter up because I could not sleep, or I cry without knowing why. Going through it was horrible! I had TAHBSO, that's why I underwent automatic menopause...How did I survive it? My family was supportive of me, they understand my condition; even in school, I was so irritable and temperamental. But I learned to control it by becoming aware of my reactions. I also heeded the advices of the doctor especially on my diet. I took Remifemin regularly up to now. Fortunately, I am responding well to the medication. Now, the symptoms have disappeared, thanks God. I hope to continue to be okay...What about you? What symptoms did you experience?
