I could... but I wouldn't want to get up and down changing channels. I don't know how it would help global warming - is it the batteries inside? Well, I use re-chargeables in my remote, so rarely have to throw any of them away. Can't see how else it would cause global warming..

l don't think using a remote for your tv does anything to to cause global warming. I thought, that this would be a good item to use as an example. Just to see how many would give up the remote for global warming if they had to. You never know, it might come down to something like it some day.

Hey i would survive without my TV remote no problem at all. What do u think people used to do when remote never existed. Some mobiles with infrared can be used as remotes so tht would solve the entire problem. Don't u think?

If this was a reality, sorry but I wouldn't. It would be us hard working middle class people giving them up while all the big shots in Washington: President, Senators & Congressmen/women for example are still using their remotes. Does anyone really think Bush sitting in the White House is going to get up and switch the channel and adjust the volume? NO, his people will tell him, since we made everyone give up thier remotes, you using yours will not really have a big impact on global warming, so go ahead and use it.

Yes. It's very easy to get up and down to change the channel. When I go to bed, I have to have the tv on, but I leave it on one channel most of the time so it wouldn't effect me too. Now, my husband would be disturbed by this. There are way more things that are effecting the global warming that I don't think by just stoping the use of a remote control is going to help much. Who knows. It's a good question though. Can't wait to see what the "men" on mylot will say. LOL

Nope, I wouldn't be able to. My digital television box has no buttons to change channel so it'd be a single channel then :P.
