How do you do your grocery shopping?

This is funny because my hubby always teases me when we do our grocery shopping. He will always remind me to buy only the essentials, stick on my list of things to buy and do it quickly. Not that I'm buying non-essential things but I have the habit of starting from the first aisle then the next and the next then get some stuff along the way until I reach the frozen and cold section. it's like doing it in zigzag fashion so that I don't miss anything :) Well actually ,it's some kind of a therapy for me, after a long day, I enjoy it and it relaxes me but he never understands , anyway he doesn't have a choice lol:). Do you have thesame habit or it is just me? How do you do yours?

I think of a few essential items I definitely want to buy. After those are out of the way, I go through basically each isle and pick out whatever I want, while still holding budget into consideration. I don't bother to write things down, though. If I forget to buy something, I just pick it up on my next trip. There's numerous supermarkets in my area, so going grocery shopping really isn't out of the way. Besides, carrying those shopping bags home builds muscle, right? ;]

We share the same habit, and I guess your husband's warning is also the same tactic most husbands use, including my own husband! LOL! I guess shopping is the least liked chore of men because for them IT is stressful...but for us women, shopping is relaxing and causes a "eu-stress" instead of the men's "distress". So next time your husband tags along with you to your trips to the grocery, remind him that shopping is what women most enjoy doing and that he can just sit in one corner and wait up. I did that to my husband once who insisted to accompany me to the mall; I agreed but on condition that he just sits in one corner and just patiently wait for me. And oh, did I tell you that I warned him that my being in the mall would take me longer than he could stand, so I asked him to choose: wait for me, or just come back when I'm through. Of course he chose to wait.

Welcome to the club sis! It is a woman's thing, happy that I am not alone. We're luckyto have patient hubbies, they may not understand but they lovingly comply:)

I also have the habit of not only going through all the aisles of the grocery, but all the floors of a shopping mall as well. I like cheap and fabulous finds, that I like to see everything that is on sale. I don't want to miss a good buy you know. And when I do find a good buy, I get them by the bulk, because I know that they easily run out of stock. I'm an impulse buyer, what more can I say?! :P

I like to zigzag up and down the aisles also. This way if there is a good sale on something, I don't miss it. I do usually stick to my list though. Otherwise, I could be in some trouble financially.

If I have a small list I will try to stick to it and not go down any aisles I do not need items from. When we are shopping for the week together, he tries to go only to what we need but I more like to go up and down each aisle as I may spot something I forgot to put on the list. Grocery shopping can be a panic attack waiting to happen if I do not have a list. I get anxious, afraid I have forgotten something.
