Yup, I love siomai! :) I love it with chili sauce, too. But there was one time, I got the chance to try some siomai from another place, it tasted and felt like it was made 90% fat! That was really horrible. By the way, is that Katherine Mcphee? :)

it is a chinese cuisine and they call it steamed dumplings. It also has lots of variety like chicken, pork and it is even with shrimp. I havent really tried making it myself i usually buy them but my uncle made them lastnight so i ate so many since its expensive to buy in pieces...im planning to make one myself and i even found the recipe here in mylot...i will share it with you if u care to try...do u like asian foods?

I love chinese foods! Have you tried eating it fried? It tastes good that way too! As for the sauce, I prefer a combination of sweet sauce and chili, with a little calamansi!

The best ones (that are also cheap) are from Hen Lin. They also have the best chili sauce Dimsum n' Dumplings is really good too, but it's sort of expensive.

siumai - This is the siumai I took last time in a dimsum restaurant.
Yeah, I quite like to eat siumai. Everytime when we go to dim sum restaurant, we have to order siumai. I suppose it's the most famous dish in the dim sum restaurant. Besides siumai, I like other dim sum too. The one with prawns is very famous too.

Yes, I absolutely love them! :) I like those with pork filling, topped with a little prawn and then with a little orange fish roe. Those are really good. Especially when they are freshly made. I like to dip the Siomai in chilli sauce or sambal (which is a Malay chilli sauce that's a little more salty than regular bottled chilli sauce) or also in mayo. Sometimes, I dip them into curry too.

Oh I love siumai and I am indeed a fans of siumai. It tastes so good and I have to agree with you that it goes really well with chily sauce. I love the traditional meat ones which we could eat in the restaurants. I also love the "modern" ones using fish as the main ingredients, those are good too! I could really eat siumai all day *laughs*!

Hi andak2007, my children loves siomai. We usually eat siomai during the weekends at our favorite eatery. Yes, it is best taken with chili sauce but you can also eat it with mustard, which I like best.

I love siomai and I love dipping it in soy sauce with native lime (calamansi in the Philippines) and chili sauce (dried chopped hot peppers or "sili" in oil). It's good with rice too.
