It Is Enrollment Time Again

Philippines
May 20, 2007 11:32pm CST
In the Philippines, parents and students fill the schools again as enrollment period has started in all the schools I know of. Most students ask for their parents to accomopany them at school during this time. It seems like parents has a good way of dealing with the problems, akin to enrolment, that crop up from time to time. Are you the kind of parent who is willing to be with your children during enrollment days? I know that it is some task to undertake. I had always been there for mine.

my parents use to accompany me during enrollment up to high school. But now that I'm in college, I'm the only one who takes care of my enrollment.

the good about having a mom around during enrollment is, there is somebody to take care of our needs as we fall in queue along that very long line at every stage of the process.

my mom had always been with me during my enrollment days even up to my college years. hehe. i know that most who reach their college years don't anymore bring their parents along. but i do. i just feel more comfortable whenever i have my mom around. and i am glad that she's willing to come with me all the time.

parents will always be there for you if you will ask them kindly. that is part of the role parents play in the lives of their children...to give guidance and support whenever asked for.

Since my kids are still small, I'm the one enrolling them to school. They accompany me at times but they get bored and tired from the long wait of enrollment.

it is true that getting enrolled is among those boring things to do. it really takes so much patience to be standing in such long lines just so as to go through each process. the schools must think of better ways to do it than have those long lines.

Yes. I will go with my children to enrollment/registration. Here in America the children must have their parents with them and they have to pay fees for school.

for me, it is good for parents to accompany their children during enrolment. the children can feel that their parents give it some importance that they get to school.

me, when i'm still a student, i wasn't accompanied with my parents because i'm old enough and i'm ashamed if i have my parents with me...hehehe maybe, those parents really wanted to accompanied their children to sure that the money will not waste into nothing..some teenagers are not trustworthy...

that is true, that students are just not that trustworthy when it comes to money. there are some students though who will always asked to be accompanied by their parents. they find it easier and faster to go through some process if the parent is with them.

time has come again to enroll kids to schools. parents usually accompany their younger children (pre-schoolers and elementary) and have them enrolled. in the case of high school students, they should start enrolling by themselves even without the parents presence as long as parents know how much tuition should be paid. the same thing with college students who are responsible and old enough to choose what subjects to take, what time schedules they should get and how many units to load per semester.

it is true, ryanphil, that students can take care of themselves for enrolling from high school up. but i have noticed that some students request the presence of their parents when it comes to enrolling in college. there seem to be some problems cropping up as they go through the process and, the presence of a parent speeds up so much ironing them through. i think i encountered this when my second child was getting enrolled during his third year in college. he called me to come over and help. of course, i complied.

that is so true. summertime has ended in my country with the entry of may. may is the start of the rainy season. since we are a tropical country, our climate is very different from what you have, it is only the dry and the rainy seasons for us. summer break ends by mid-june. may you enjoy your summer break fully well.

Being with your children during enrollment time is a feeling of parental responsibility. Being with them for sure shall give your children the feeling of assurance and pride. its just like" "Hey guys! look, my mom is with me! it will be over soon and I will be enrolled!"

there are children who feels proud when their parents are with them during all important school occasions and, this includes the enrollment period. yes, i have noticed too that my kids used to be proud to tell their friends that i am with them during enrollment days. we are one in this experience, gsgonzalez.

I enroll by myself since I'm already in college. I've been enrolling alone since high school.

there are a lot of independent-minded people. i used to get enrolled by myself, too. however, i can always see it to be advantageous to have someone around to help during the entire process.

This is different from Europe. Here the school starts normally in september each yaer and the universities in october. And there is not such a big deal. I think only with the new comers the parents are joing them in the first day.

yes, our school period here is much different from your place. there was a move before to have it synchronized with how it is observed in your place but it didn't get approved. it is the same here during enrollment period. the freshmen, almost all of them has a parent accompanying them during enrolment. i wonder if students will also be made to fall in such a long line at each step of the process. it is really very taxing, time consuming and makes one feel the pangs of hunger coming while standing up there.
