This can happen to anyone of us. Sometimes when you are driving and saw someone lying on the road, what would you do? Would you stop your car and try to see what you can do to help? Sometimes it is a genuine case where there is actually someone lying hurt but what if just a trick to get out of the car? Or do you stop if someone stop your car? I wont stop my car especially if I am alone.

Hi ellie26. In such cases, I would definitely not stop the car in the first instance. but I would definitely slow down and try to get the exact situation. And in case the matter is serious and needs my attention, then I would try to help as far as I can.

Hello, ellie26. If this happened to me, I'll stop my car probably to see whether he/she need my help. Like you mentioned, sometimes it maybe a trick which makes use of the generosity and kindness of human being. I think it's a disgusting action. We should get rid of this behavior.

Once, while travelling to a hill station (Kodaikanal) I saw a person lying on the road side with a froth in his mouth with symptoms of epilepsy. I kept the keys in his hands, and after gaining consciousness I gave mineral water and also some notes and proceeded further. When I took a break after 6-7 kms of journey, I learnt that guy earns his bread from highway travellers by acting like a epilepsy patient. Immediately, I rushed back to the spot and kicked that guy black and blue. I get wild at such cheaters.

I make it a point to keep my doors locked, and a knife and bat always in the car. I would slow to see if they needed help to be curteous, however if they tried to run at me i'd plow them down ( if they were trying to break into the car or hurt me). If my husband was with my he'd say, don't stop period!

Well, i am girl, for safety reason maybe i'll just slow down my car and check the case why there is someone lying on the street, but i will not go out of my car. IF seems totally an emergency and i can do something, maybe i will ask some help. There are cases that it just a trick made by syndicate to rob your car =( that's why i have to carefully check things out before making any decision.

Honestly, no. I would call 911 on my cell and let them handle it or go to the nearest pay phone and call. If its a deserted area, I'd wait till I was in a more populated area. Sorry but there are too many freaks running loose these days. LIVE IN PEACE

No, I will not stop the car. I cannot take the risk. We cannot trust any stranger. There are all possibilities of a cheating. Why take that risk? You may ask what if the case was genuine. To that my answer is that as far as I am not sure it is genuine, I will not tske the risk.

Hello, ellie,I have not had any experience like that before, but I think i will not stop if i am driving alone at the night time,it may be very dangerous to stop because you will never know their intentions.I will consider them as drunk and just lay on the ground to take a rest.

I would be obligated to stop since I am first aid/cpr certified, but before I got out of my car, I would call 911. That way, if they were hurt or sick, someone would be on the way, and if I was in danger, then someone would be on their way.

In this day and age sadly enough I don't know. people do crazy stuff to hurt people. Normally if there is someone on the road and they look alright, I will call the Highway Patrol on my cell phone and give them them the mile marker that they are located at. I do'nt stop at all if my child is in the car. It is too dangerous now!

Personally, I would stop, however I am a pretty big guy so I don't worry too much. Howver, I can certainly see why others would not stop, especially women. Unfortuantely the world has gotten too dangerous to do good deeds at times. cheers

I would definitely not stop the car if I am alone. Coz it could be someone just faking it and I like to take every precaution I can. But if its during the day on a crowded road, Id probably stop and offer help.

Although there is the possibility that they could be trying to trick someone into stopping, I guess maybe I am too trusting of a person. Where I live, we don't generally worry so much about that kind of thing, although maybe we should. I have a tendency to help those in need. Besides, it wasn't long ago when there was a hit and run not too far from my home. The man was apparently hit one night and was found lying along the roadside the following morning after being left there all night. I don't know how well drivers could see him as they drove past, but obviously nobody stopped.

If I am alone, I would make a call on my cell phone for 911. Especially if I am alone, I would probably try not to get out of my car unless it was quite obvious that it was an emergency such as a vehicle fire or if children were visible. Sometimes in this day and age, there are people that go to extremes to hurt people so it is very good to be cautious.

This situation is general for everyone bacause this accient is occoured after three or forth where situation is so critical or so normal through lots of people are duped in the account of accident . If I am travelling by car , as any accident is triggred then justify the situation and try to handle that thingh according to my capacity.

It is a must to be very careful when it comes to road safety. I will only stop my car if I personally knew the person or to a traffic policeman. When it comes to helping supposed accident victims, I will only stop to help if I was the actual witness of it and knew what exactly happened.
