well jbelle it is a natural process but its frequency can be reduced by having a good 8-10 hours sleep..... than also if you yawn than it is nothing to be ashamed of as most of the people around also do this regularly......... so i will say that you need not worry about it.

Yes, I do. I feel that it too ugly if I don't cover it by hands.

lol. that question made me think!.. I think i cover my mouth when i yawn. But most probably there are times when i'm just too tired to notice that i AM already yawning. Or sometimes, it's too late to cover because the yawn has already started. =D

Yes I do agree that covering your mouth is proper when yawning. I think this is because most people don't want to see their colored tongue (if they eat something colorful), their tooth decay (or tooth leftovers), their mouthsores and even hiding their bad-breath-- it's very disgusting if someone see it, right? And lastly, most covered their mouth because they look differently (facial expression).

I do try to cover my mouth but sometimes it just hits you without time to. I sometimes realise halfway through a yawn that it's not covered and do my best to cover it then but sometimes, that brings attention to it even more. It's embarrassing to do it at work whilst serving people. You feel so rude.

I often cover my mouth when I yawn. I think it is unpolite to yawn in pulic places. And sometimes I find that if one yawn, I want to yawn too at once, I don't know why. But I can't help myself yawning. It seems like an infection. It is hard to earn more and more money in the world, so people have less and less time to go to sleep, and they often feel tired, then they can't help themsleves to yawn. Do you have such habit? Do you cover your mouth when you yawn?

i try to do it most of the time. whenever i feel like yawning, i'd make sure to cover my mouth. it had been my habit already since i can remember it. my teacher in elementary usually tells us her students that it is just proper for us to cover our mouths when yawning, and it was instilled in my mind. i guess i have to thank her for my good manners now :)

Well it depends on the situation where I am in. I would tend to cover my mouth when there are some strange people around me. But if I'm in a place where I'm alone or with somebody who's close to me, I don't usually cover it with my hand. I don't know exactly if this is unethical, hopefully it's not. I just try to be myself everytime.

Yes, it's proper to cover your mouth when you yawn. But sometimes it can offend a person especially if you're having a conversation with him (hehe) so it's best that you try to stop the yawn by stifling it, or holding it back ;)
