Do you view the profile of a member who are requesting to be friend?

Almost every day I got an invitation of members asking to be included in my friend list. Sometimes I'm trying to figure out why they want to be friend of me, just thinking that they find something interesting in my discussion or in my posting. But whenever I look into their profile it doesn't give me a hint about it. So basically I just base my approval in their type of discussion. If I found it the same interest with mine and don't much have offensive topic then I approve it but if not I do the opposite. How about you, do you view first the member's profile and evaluate it before approving someone's friend request?

I do look at their profile if I haven't noticed them in discussion before. I don't look to get details on them but rather to see if they've supported me in discussion or I've supported them. The must have a reason for requesting friendship before I'll accept them. If I remember them from recent discussions I've started though, I tend to accept without looking at their profile.

That's a good point in approving friend's request. My memory just not that sharp to remember those members who already replied on my previous discussions.

If you don't remember them, you can go to their profile and check through discussions they've started in the last couple of days and discussions they've responded to, to see if they've supported you, or you them.

It depends.. Sometimes when I recognize the person, I wouldn't check the profile. Or if I know the person joined my discussion. But if that person looks kinda dodgy and I don't recognize him/her, I do check his/her profile. But most of the time I just accept friends. I don't think they mean any harm.. =)

I look to see if there is anything in common or if we've been replying to the same posts. Nine times out of then I will accept a request but if they are just trying to get friends to up their numbers I will decline.

Hello abednego!(",) Just now when I opened my mylot I immediately approved a friend's request without looking at their profile. I really don't care if we have anything in common or none at all. For me as long as you want me to be your friend there is no problem with me because I readily accept it.(",) I view their profile later if I have no other discussions to respond to by checking on my friends discussions through their profile.(",) Great day to you!(",)

i usually just approve everyones friends requests because i dont get that many and then when i go through and answer friends discussions theyve started i get an idea of what their interests are or if theyll answer my discussions some of my friends answer my discussions now and then but not a lot. i havent really got any comments on my page but then i havent done any comments either i suppose its because we dont get paid for comments not everyones profile shows what theyre like so its difficult to know if the friends discussions are completely different to me then i dont approve requests but ive made most of the requests for friends anyway

I do check their profile before adding them ,somehow i'm more welcome to have friends rather then enemy. So i have never refused any of my lot member to be my friend. It doesn't matter they are active or not , who knows some day they might be very active.
