Hello MyLotters, Flowers are very pretty and they are used/given for different reasons. My favorite flower is the tulip, followed by orchids, then roses and last but not least, carnations. What's your favorite flower/flowers?

My favorite flower has always been Lilies. They are so beautiful and make the prettiest flower arrangements. I have all different kinds of lilies planted in my yard. I am going to add one to my pictures on my profile if you want to see it.

Pansys are one of my favorites, especially dark blue and lilac. They are so nice together with white flowers. It is not easy to choose the favorite flowers, there are so many that I love. Roses of course, and the spring flowers and lilac reminds me of my childhood with gardens full of them in springtime.

I really don't have a favorite flower, but I wish you could see my front yard right now. I have about 6 large Rose bushes and it seems as if they all opened up overnight. I just sat on the porch and stared at them. You should seen all the birds in my yard today. It was about 90 degrees today in New Jersey, so I filled the bird bath with water and ice cubes. They had a ball. I saw Blackbirds, Crows, Robins, Doves, Finches and a Cardinal and the house squirrel. This squirrel lives in my yard. I feed him everyday. He will eat just about anything from wheat bread to left over potatoes. Lloyd

So far this morning I've seen Robins, Doves, Finches, Black Birds, Crows and a Cardinal splashing in the water. I wish they could smile so I could see how happy they are. I bought two frozen pizzas for a dollar each. I put one in the oven and it was aweful. I only ate one slice. So I put the rest of it outside by the birdbath and I also put the other frozen one there. My yard now looks like a bird sanctuary. They are all over the place. I guess birds like pizza with sausage. The house squirrel is also out there eating the crust. LLoyd

you've spoiled the birds and the squirrel with the sausage pizza. Remember that old saying about "don't start nothing you can't finish" Is the bird bath situated near the rose bushes?

My favorite are Casablanca lilies, although I love many different lily varieties. Second favorite are probably orchids, followed by gladiolus and irises. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lily http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iris_(plant) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladiolus

frangipani - frangipani / kamboja image
Certainly :) This flower is about 3 - 5 meters tall and blossom all years. The aroma from this flower is useful for aromatherapy and massage in Bali spa. It help us to relax just to smell of the fragance. They have many type of colors such as pure white, yellow, pink, orange and red. Baliness people use it to offering their Gods, display it in the mall and spa, and almost every house have this kind of flower.

I've heard of jasmine but I didn't realize it was a flower. Thought is was just a fragance for shower gels, candels and perfume. I have a 2nd cousin whose name is Jasmine.I'll bet she nor her mom knew it was a flower. I'll have to share that bit of info with them. I'm learning a lot from this discussion. Thanks for your response.

I'm not familiar with Amriliss. The only flower I know of for Easter is the Easter Lily and for Christmas it's the Poinsettia. I've never known anyone who names their flowers, that's really unique.

They are hard to find and I might go out and find them again as I remember they were called Amrliss or amryliss I don't know (sigh) anyway they come in red for Christmas and white for Easter and they are hard to grow in the winter I have to put them in the closet or dark room and they will bloom every six months. I'll let you know if I can find it and give you the right words then maybe you might know what they are (smile)

Pink roses are nice. Whenever you are given a bouquet, it means you're special. I can relate to how good you must have felt, I felt really good to know I was thought of in a special way when I got a bouquet of roses for my wedding anniversary a few years ago.

Asiatic Lilies - In the left side you can see 2 opened so far.
My favorite is the Lily of any type. I have around 50 or more planted in various locations in my yard and I love them. Strange for a man but I am a caregiver for my father and don't work. So I'm home all day to tend to the flowers and veggies I grow. Heres a shot of my Lily bed in front. 2 Lilies have opened so far. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hi there webeishere, I hope everything is ok with your father. It's so heart warming to know you're a caregiver for him. I know it must be hardwork but I know you will be blessed for doing so. What sort of veggies do you grow. I can't grow anything, I don't have a green thumb. Are the lilies easy to take care of?
