When you travel, do you stay with family, or rent a hotel/Motel room?

and, what is the limit to what you would spend per night?
Personally, I'd rather save 50$ and sleep in my truck, but then again, I am a penny pincher anyways, haha!if I HAVE to stay at a motel, then I pick a Motel Lodge, because I like the fact they have comfy stuff in there, like a microwave, coffee machine, and a few condiments.
so, what is your favorite?

It depends on the family member to be honest :) and how long I was staying. I'd more then likely get a motel room though because I don't like to intrude on others. I usually though pick the reasonable rate motels. The ones with the basics but nothing too fancy. I don't need much to be comfortable and I can't see spending a $100 a night for just a room to sleep in.

good gravy! I DEFINATELY cannot see spending 100$ a night for a motel room. I had that problem once, so I parked outside the motel, and slept in the parking lot in my truck. It was Ghetto, but I also saved about 100$ which pretty much paid for my gas.
I am planning on visiting relatives in Sacramento though, and I certainly do not want to stay the night with them, because they are quite messy. (ew!)
and, I am certainly not sleeping in my truck on this adventure, because Sacramento is not a safe area.

My one brother won't stay in a hotel unless it's got all the amenities and costs a small fortune, even if all he's doing is stopping there for a few hours while traveling between destinations. To me it makes no sense but he always has to have the best even if can't use the amenities.
I don't blame you I'd get a motel room too with offered those choices. It is safer then sleeping in your truck and perhaps cleaner then the family home.

we rent rooms. I just like to get up sometimes and I dont like to bother anyone. I just feel more comfortable in a room. Sometimes i wake up early and want coffee. I guess i just like the privacy.
