Fate of Draco Malfoy in the last book?

Although Harry, Ron and Hermione have grown in stature in the last three books, Draco Malfoy still seems to be a kid trying to join the big league. What do you think would be the fate of Draco Malfoy in the last book? Cheers! Ram

I think the 6th book really proved that Draco isn't like his father, that he isn't a killer and that he really isn't into Voldemort and what he's doing. I think Draco was just facing a lot of pressure from his parents and from those around him to succede, not only that, he didn't want to die by Voldemort's hand. So, since Draco didn't actually go through with what he was supposed to do, I'm not sure if Draco will actually survive the 7th book. He very well could be one of the ones to die in this book.

You know I'm not sure but I hope that JKR does him justice whether she keeps him evil or good. I would like for him to come into his own. I think he'd be great as a good guy but he might not be willing to side with the others. I just hope he is allowed to make the choice himself, that he is not forced into it.

well some of it Draco brought down on himself but not all of it. I'm hoping they make him good but even if they make him evil then let it be his choice, not because Daddy made him or it's just because he doesn't like Harry. Let him choose for good reasons not because of what others expect of him.

That is something on which I absolutely agree with. I actually think she has not done justice to Malfoy and the poor boy has just been a punching bag for the Potter gang more often than not. Cheers! Ram

I think that Draco's fate might end up having a lot to do with whether or not Snape is good or evil. If Snape actually still is with the Order of Phoenix, then him running off with Draco might lead to him "disappearing" as Dumbledore had suggested before the Adava Kedavra (sp?) curse. If Snape is truly evil then probably Draco will continue being evil too. Narcissa seems to truly love her son a great deal. Wouldn't it be something if Voldemort was going to kill Draco for not being able to kill Dumbledore, and then Narcissa stepped in, and perhaps even Lucius would get turned around by that too. I'm totally speculating here, but it would be interesting to see that family turn around and be good for a change. I have suspected for a long time that the potential existed for Harry and Draco to eventually become friendly, if not actually friends. There are so many interesting possibilities out there. I am so very eager to read the book, although I hate it that it will be the last one of the series.

That's an interesting thought that you have brought to the discussion table. It might really be deja vu if Malfoy suffers the same fate as the Boy Who Lived!! The plot thickens... Cheers! Ram

I don't know. That's alot to think about! I could kinda see Draco going the way of Voldemrt in the beginning. Maybe out to avenge his parents, and going into hiding, coming out only to wreck havoc on the wizarding world (and any muggles or mudbloods who happen to get in his way). I feel bad for him, but I don't think he'll be easily redeemed. I've sort of thought a time or two that he may be one of the unlucky souls to find an end in book 7. I have to admit, I'm really rooting for Snape to have had a plan with Dumbledore the whole time, and that he really is good. (Even if he is a bad natured bugger!)

I agree that Snape might hold the key to Draco's survival or changeover in the last novel. Cheers! Ram

I'm thinking that he will go over to the "light" side and help in the fight against Voldiemort if he can get away from Snape. I hope that's what happens anyway but we will find out soon enough.

There again... Snape seems to hold the key... I think though that Snape eventually would end up in the good side... Cheers! Ram

contradicting many of u....i say malfoy will come to the good side bringing the one of many twists in the book rowling is famous for.. remember hw he even tough disliking dumbledore n being on voldemorts order ,hurling insults to him still cudnt manage to kill him....i think(n hope) that theres sum part in him that realises the good in him.... mayb a lil maturity in the 7th book will make him actually save harry frm a sticky spot ...juz like snape did saving harrys life in the first book....

The last book would reveal whether it was pure nerves or was it the fact that he could not kill him. Let's wait and watch for what JK Rowling has in store for us. Cheers! Ram

I don't know, but i'm very interested to find out! He's one of my fave characters, maybe even my fave. I think he seems to be being made to grow up too quickly, to deal with too many things all at once, which is why he seems to be a big kid trying to make it to an adult still. I actually have quite a soft spot for him, so hope he doesn't meet too sticky a fate! Just beucase his parents are evil and nasty (though Lucius is rather attractive in the films!) it doesn't mean he will be. If the kids of lovely, nice parents can still grow up bad maybe the reverse could happen with Draco?
