I used to love these shrinkable plastics when I was growing up. My sister and I would color them in and our mom would put them in the oven so they could do their 'magic'. Now that I have kids of my own I cannot find SHRINKY DINKS in stores. However I did find this link http://www.shrinkydinks.com/ for it, but does anyone know where I can buy them locally, like at Wal-Mart or Target? Or are they not available locally anymore? I'd love my kids to experience these little shrinkable plastics, just like I did when I was little... Did you like Shrinky Dinks when you were a kid? Do you like them now?

I remember shrinky dinks from when I was a kid. I loved them and made all kinds of things with them. I hadn't thought about them in years, but had tried to find them several years ago for my daughter and wasn't able to. I'm glad that you found their website, but I'm not so sure that you will find them locally. I couldn't find them when I looked, but all we have here is a Wal-Mart and a Target, and as I said that was several years ago.

My sister found some shrinky dinks while I was pregnant with my son. I think she got them at Hobby Lobby, but I'm not positive. She did two of them. One as an ornament for my tree, and one as an ornament for my mom's tree. She waited until after he was born, and put his name and birthdate and everything on them. Then she lost them before the next Christmas. lol She does still know where the ones she hasn't done are. She's saving them for when Elliott gets a little bigger, and then she is going to do them with him and my two nieces.

I use to love Shrinky Dinks. My siblings and I use to do thems for hours at a time. I bought some of these to do with my own children last year. They loved them as well. I have seen them at Wal-Mart but it was at Christmas time. They were in the craft section. You might want to try Micheals or some other craft store.

My sister and I loved those! I remember making some that were Christmas ornaments and others that we turned into pins and earrings. They were so much fun! I haven't seen them at stores like Target or Wal-Mart in many years but I want to say I saw them at Hobby Lobby not too long ago. I imagine people put them in the microwave nowadays so they're faster and maybe even cleaner. At any rate, if you have any hobby/craft stores near you, it might be worth a look. When my son gets older I plan on trying some; hopefully he'll like them as much as my sister and I did.
