I lived in Schweinfurt, Germany for 3 1/2 years, while my husband was stationed there. That was the first place I lived when I left home, talk about culture shock. I was only 19 and I missed home so much. It is a nice place to visit but I don't want to live there again. My daughter was born in Wurzburg Hospital. The barracks that were in that town were Conn Barracks and Ledward Barracks.

I lived there twice, as a brat and a solider. With my parents we were at Darmstadt and on my own I was at Heidelberg. I totally love it. My husband (fellow soldier I met and married there) and I considered staying once our tours were over. It is such a wonderful open place, with plenty of chances to explore the countries around it as well as the history there. I even had my first child there. That is a fact he is very proud of.

i had lived in Germany for 10 years, two of those years i was too young to remember, i was in Berlin, during the time of the wall falling down! later on in life i lived in Celle, Hohne, Fallingbostel, as my paretns where in the forces, loved the country, and the poeple where generally friendly, unless u picked fights with the locals hehe..(which i never did) :) but would deffo go back given the chance, as long as it wasnt in the winter, i hate snow, and its always freexin there
