Triming Salaries of CEOs!!!

I was surprised to read in newspaper today that Prime Minister Mr. Man Mohan Singh (India) has advised to trim salaries of CEOs of big companies/corporates. The reason he quote is that it will lead to Social unrest. What do you say on this.
