Do you tend to get others addicted to genealogy?

I am an enthusiastic family tree researcher. When I start talking to people about it they end up researching their families. I don't know exactly how many people I have gotten addicted to family tree research but every once in a while I see someone in Walmart or some other store and we start talking research.

I have started researching my family tree for my third book. I think I 've gotten my father really interested in it. He can talk to me on the phone for hours asking questions about what I have found.

That's really cool. I like the Family Tree Maker program. I get the updates and when I talk to someone interested in getting started on their family tree I give them my older program disc. They in turn get the updates and pass on the older program.

I don't think I have gotten anyone addicted to genealogy. I do know that several have at least gotten interested in their family history a little more. I try to help them get started and if they continue, great. It is a wonderful feeling when they come back to me many months later and tell me stories about what they have discovered. Their faces glow. Now that is cool!

Well don't look now but those people are probanly addicted. I always tell people which program I use and what sites I have had the best results on.Now that there are so many sites on the internet people are making better progress and it isn't as frustrating as the records offices and libraries.

My grandfather did a lot of research on our family tree. He travelled a lot and found out about many family members. Then my father added to our family tree and now I managed to fill it some more, I am proud of it. Parts of our family date back to 1600. How about that?
