How can you calm down before an exam?

I have been preparing for an exam on next weekend. It is so important to me that it may determine my futher. I am always worried about it and sometimes cannot concentrate myself on my studies. Do any of you get nervous before exams? What would you do to get rid of it? Thanks.

exam fear is nature one.. so anybody can't delete it ... a self confidence is the best for that fearness.., before the exams , 5 nimits meditation is best. don,t fear. work well and get good marks..

There are methods which help you to calm your mind before exams. Getting nervous about exams is very natural and also necessary to some extent. It shows that you are serious about taking the exam and also to fair well in it. But when this nervousness gets out of control the problem arises. It affects us very much. You may use breating techniques and say to yourself that you are unique and no one can parallel you. This is not getting overconfident but just to increase your confidence level for good. Do not say it loud. Its just a matter of how your mind takes it in. If you mean whatever you say and are sincere in your efforts you will certainly be benefited by it. Just take deep long breaths before starting studying anything and during this exercise just think of finishing the chapter or whatever you are studying and not about the consequencies or the grades in the examination. I too get nervous for all my exams eventhough I know that I can fair well in them. Its much of a necessacity than of a concern to me.

the only way i know to beat pre-exam stress and anxiety is to meditate for at least half a hour a day. You need to clear your mind and let all other thoughts drift away. Hope this helps good luck with the exams blessed be

i am the last one to calm down before an exam,i guess i can't. the day before my exam,i need to overview the whole book of my exam,and if i didn't finish reading it,i know i will not get a good score the next day,so every night before the exams,i am busy reading those books and it's really tired of doing that. thank god i dont need to take any exams now.

Hello, xiaonikeng. Sometimes, I'll get nervous before exams, but not too strong. I think before exams, we'd better prepare for it. Besides, we should give us a little bit of time to relax ourselves. That'll distract our attention. Therefore, the less attention, the less nervousness you'll get. Wish you can pass the important exam. Don't nervous. Trust yourself and you can do it. Good luck! :)

Sometimes.We have experienced lots of exams,many of which are also so important,such as enterance exam.I also felt so nervous before the exam,but I always tell myself that it's no more than an universal exam and I just should treat with it same as the monk exam.Gradually,the fear disappears.Before taking an exam,do not think how important it is;otherwise,it will give you more pressure.

It's very hard to calm down if you are the type of person that get very nervous. I'm always calm by nature so it has never been a problem for me.

I never really get nervous before an exam if I've studied the materials well enough to have a firm grasp on it. I recommend remaining calm despite the circumstances, because if you don't, that often leads to anxiety, which could lead to panic attacks which could lead to you not even finishing the exam and getting a 0 or incomplete. You say the exam will determine your future, but is it an exam that leads to grad school or what? I would say that despite the stress of the exam, do not let the exam define your self-worth or your value as an individual given to you from others. Some things I recommend doing for calming down before a big exam is the day before do something physically exerting that you enjoy. Table tennis? Basketball? Soccer? Walking? Yard work? The activity you engage in could really be anything and as such, you will be taking your mind off the stress of your upcoming exam. I would say to not worry about the exam because if you are qualified, you will pass. Is the exam in a subject that is a strength or weakness for you? If the exam is in one that's a strength, just concentrate on remembering the small details of the subject and stretch and shimmy in your seat when studying. Some people have found that listening to music before an exam helps. When I was in college and high school, I would listen to songs and use the song lyrics as memory devices for the material. If you are not an auditory learner, I would not recommend this, however. Good luck with your exam next week, xiaonikeng.

well,these situations are common to me too.so the first thing i do is that to think you are not alone to help you.meditating is the best method,i usually pray.and whenever you get bored or frustrated,try talking to someone who is humerous in nature,or play a short mobile game,or even have a light snack with a small walk.it takes your mind of things.after coming back justtry to revise what you have learned already,eventhough you may have revised it several times before,and most of all.dont leave any subject to be learned for the first time on the day before your exam.it must be specially reserved for written rivision and group discussions.friends can bring a lot calmness to yuor anxiety,sure they must be some sort of studying in nature.have a nice time

Thats really very important question to ask for any student who is ready to face the examination. This is because, even though you have prepared well for your examination, if you are tensed during the examination,you may not be able to perform well there.. So here are the tips to avoid the nervousness before the exam. 1) Dont do last minute readings 2) Close your eyes for few minutes before the exam starts. 3) Take 5-10 deep breaths. This will really calm you down. 4) Stop worrying about any particular chapter you have forgotten to read or not read. 5) Forgot about your past exam performances and start your current exam well. 6) Try to sleep well the night before the exam. 7) Drink as much water as you can during the exam time period. 8) Take proper food, eat as much fruits as you can. Avoid Junk food or heavy food. Hope these helps.
