Have you noticed here on Mylot, that when someone posts a discussion - they are really looking for validation of their thoughts? They aren't actually looking for a discussion. I have noticed that if I ever disagree with a post, I get blasted by the discussion owner. I think it sort of misses the point to have a discussion if you think everyone should agree with you.

I too have noticed this. This is a discussion forum isn't it? But there are quite a few people in the world that only want validation instead of posting an actual subject that gets some discussion going. I personally don't let it bother me, I have come to the conclusion that it isn't worth my aggravation. I would love to see a good discussion that just keeps going where people just can't help themselves but post and no one is arguing or getting upset. :) mahmah

I have noticed the best response often being picked because the person agreed in some manner. Then I wonder why they had the discussion at all if they were not willing to learn or be open to another point of view. That is what I like most about Mylot the ability to share and to learn different ways of viewing things and points of view. All the while of being paid a small amount to do so. Getting blasted is not acceptable and should be reported. In time we could weed out the negative types and have this site as it is meant to be. Open and free sharing without repercussions.

You're so right, Willowlady... as usual, the voice of reason! The downside is that the rating system is abused over this issue. Someone can have a VERY well thought out response that disagrees with the discussion, and they'll get a negative rating... instead of the discussion owner maybe learning something from the response, or at least acknowledging that there are other opinions out there. We can all learn from each other if we are open to it... Thanks for your response!

Yes. I have noticed this also. i think everyone should be allowed to voice their own opinion especially when the topic is a controversial one. I never try to respond negatively to other members or harrass and judge them. they are entitled to their own opinion and I do not have to agree with it, but I should accept it and leave it be.

I don't have to be right.
I accept that I'm wrong, but I won't have someone change my opinion no matter what. That's my choice :)
The other day and today someone here tried twisting what I said and I won't give her the satisfaction of replying to her because I can accept her opinion but I don't value what she said.

I do agree. I feel like I am posting these things here to hear others opinions. Every now and again you get annoyed, but I try to remember every one is not going to agree with me. Why should they. That would be boring. I feel like I just wantto see hwta others think even if I have my mind made up .
