I read in a newspaper today about two old couples aged 75 and 68 who have just got married. I find it interesting because at their advanced age, they can fall in love and get married. what do you think about marriages in the golden age? Can they take care of each other?

I think it is great. I knew a woman about eighty years old who fell in love with a man who lived a couple of hundreds of miles away and they always visited one another. I think it makes life of older people very interesting and it is much better than just to sit at home alone, watch TV and think of bygone days. Sure they can take care of one another better than just by themselves and better than just caretakers.

75 years can marry 68 years old, they can understand each other well and lead a blissful and matured life, I really pity the teenage girls who marry the 75 years old men due to poverty.

It will end with a bride becoming widow at the young age.

I think its really sweet that this older couple fell in love and got married. Very few people have courage at that age to do so and its great that they did. And definitely they can take care of one another - they have already had a lifetime's experience. Love has got nothing to do with age and if they can give a commitment to their relationship then nothing better than that.

I think the support is required more so in the old days for a person. And getting married, if a person is single in older age, is the best way of having support. And marriage is not only about physical relations between the couple. It has more to do with the emotional attachment between the couple. And this is the thing that keeps the couple together and support each other in their golden years.

Wow I think that is wonderful that they were able to find love again :) As long as they are together I think nothing could stop them from taking care of each other.

It is better late then never. I think marrying at that age is only for companionship. It can be lonely when you are old and alone. I think it will be a blessing for their children as it lift up their burden. If they are healthy I don't see any reason why they can't look after each other physically and mentally.

People with advanced age need companionship as well as young people do. In fact I believe that they need that companionship more than younger people do because It is harder to get around to do things that can make you Happy. They don't get married to take care of each other. I think it wonderful that they found each other.

i think, that's a sweet thing to do. obviousy, at this age ppl are not after lust and physical needs, its more an emotional need and dependence. its not only taking care of each other, its a dependence and the feelings that there is someone to case, that is what matters the most. trust me, it feels great to have a partner by your side, just telling you that he/she cares. thank you.

I am always fasinated by the senior citizen's love story. Age is not a boundary to love and if they haven't lost their abilities to love, I feel happy for them. It's beyond physical attraction too and it makes it sound so much purer. I just hope that they don't have to wait most of their lives to find the "true love", I always hope that that would be their "second true love". *laughs*

Hi wondericequeen, if we can understand about how old people go through their life everyday, I think we can also understand why they want to get marry at their age. Thanks for your response.

Hahaha. Nice to hear that news, although its not nothing new to me. Well, these married couple were not more on if they can take care of each other. It more relies on companionship, i am sure they'll be happy with it.
