Do you save money secretly for a rainy day?

i have secretly been saving money that my hubby knows nothing about. i take all the change he keeps on forgetting everywhere and save it in a secret bank account. i also take the loose change when we go shopping. its a great system. i have saved a neat amount to date.

I sure do, I set aside about $1000 per month. Not only for a rainy day but also to save up some money on the down payment on a house.

Wow you are lucky to have that much left each month. we currently break even so hubbys change is all that keeps my saving venture alive.

Both my GF and I have a good education and some pretty high saleries. Put that together with the fact that we live in a very cheap apartment and we don't own a car or have any children, then that does give us quite a lot of free money every month. Guess that'll all end when we find a nice house :-)

Yes I always save enough money so that when I need it I can use it. I do save it in a piggy bank.
