flies?

Can someone enlighten me about the purpose of flies?
Here's a few uses I listed out :
- Being useless
- Making an annoying noise
- Flying around purposelessy
- Looking funny and dumb
- Acting dumb in general
- Repeatedly bumping into windows
- Being an healthy exercise for my lizard
- etc.

their eggs hatch in to maggots which eat decaying flesh. Therefore they are an essential part of nature's recycling mission
