I never like it ever since I was a kid. First I hate menthol, so a big majority of brands is out right away. I know that nowadays toothpaste comes in so many flavors, but they still have that toothpaste taste that I hate. THe ones that come closer for me are the new fruity tasting ones that are not completely bad. What brand of toothpaste to do you use? Do you like its taste or just brush your teeth while trying to ignore how it's tasting?

I like the taste of toothpaste. And the smell it leaves on the mouth is great. But I guess this is just an matter of taste or habit. I like the normal toothpaste flavor, the one that taste like menthol. Other tastes like strawberry or other flavors they make to kids are not that good for me.

I was never able to have anything menthol, it's not only the toothpaste is everything as long as it tastes like menthol. That's why I most of the times I end up using the kid's flavors.

I find it fine... but hang on! I might have hated it when I was a child. Hmm.. I think so... and I had to be coaxed with the right flavor. :P

Well I still need to be coaxed with the right flavor. Mint does not work for me... not only in toothpaste... everything can't have mint gum or candy or any drink that is flavored with mint. Some of them are milder and I can take them in small doses but most of them are too strong. I just can't!

I've always liked the taste of toothpaste - it's very refreshing, and it makes your teeth clean! I usually use Crest toothpaste.

I know what you mean...however I don't really mind the flavour of toothpaste. It just seems that it is strong when you first start to brush...and if you put too much on...then it is worse...

OH I never noticed that one in here. Interesting I will keep an eye for it at least just to try:)

I've never been a fan of minty tastes at all, over the years my mouth has got used to it but I remember when i was little I'd refuse to brush my teeth as the mintiness made my eyes water. haha! Such a sensitive mouth! So my mum reluctantly bought my all kinds of alternative toothpastes, strawberry flavoured was my favourite! I once had one that was grape flavoured (apparently??) and GLITTERY! Crazy... Can't imagine it did my teeth much good but it was a fun novelty!

I like the taste of toothpaste. Call me weird but I recall a point in my childhood when I actually ate some. Just a bit. I do like the taste of menthol. I find it refreshing.

Many kids do eat a bit of toothpaste here and there, some really enjoy the taste. I find the menthol taste refreshing too, it's just that is to overwhelming.

i don't use just one brand of toothpaste. i change from one brand to another... just for variation purposes. i only like the taste of toothbrush while brushing. i feel it's cleansing taste as it does on my teeth... or maybe it's just subconsious in any way. but i do like the taste of it while it cleanses my teeth. but when staying too long inside my mouth, i feel like vomiting... so, i rinse it out and feel like i hate the taste of it already after some time.

I do not. The taste of peppermint makes me gag. I can't stand candy canes or peppermint gum (blech). Brushing my teeth is a very...unappealing prospect. I have to get used to the toothpaste I have (which right now is Arm and Hammer). I can not just change brands because then I have to get used to the new minty taste. I brush rather quickly because if I get too much of the taste I throw up. I really really hate mint. I tried some of the other flavors but didn't like them and my mouth didn't feel as fresh. So I guess I am stuck with yucky mint flavored toothpaste. My kids like the new Crest Vanilla mint (I think it is). My husband got it for himself but the kids started using it.

Exactly how I feel. ANd there is nothing I can do about it other than brushing really fast, getting my tongue out of the way and hold the gag reflex.

I have no qualms with the flavors of toothpaste. When I was younger and wanted to freshen my breath quickly, I would put a dab on my finger and then onto my tongue. Now we use the Cinnamon one, my hubby likes it and he is the picky one. The fruit flavors, don't make me feel as though I've brushed my teeth, they leave me feeling like I just drank a glass of juice or something.

actually i like the taste of toothpaste. i use colgate, and after brushing my teeth i get sense of freshness. when i was a kid i used to take kids tooth paste, which were flavored. i still remember the flavor of strawberry. it was sooo good. just like bubble gum . since i have a few dental problems, the dentist told me not to use colored toothpaste and not to use flavored ones. because they are not really effective for your teeth. since then i have been using colgate. and i am pretty comfortable with it.

Yes I actually still use kids toothpaste most of the times. It's the only ones that I have no problems with. But as you say they seem to not be as effective.
