Should age of consent remain at 18 years or lowered? What about retirement?

How soon can a teenager be considered an adult? Should the laws on age of consent be changed? And how old should a person be considered as retired ? Why should the laws dictate how young or old a person should be in order to attain certain rights?

i think the age of consent should be lowered to 16 so more youth can do their duties as an active citizen like participating in national elections...

Wouldn't maturity of the kids be something to consider if they lowered the age to 16 years old? How would their education be affected as well as creating their own families - wouldn't teenage pregnancy get worst in the process? What do you think? Thanks for the precious input!

The laws for defining the age of adulthood and childhood i.e 18 and age for retirement i.e 60 are perfectly acceptable in my opinion.

here in the US, once you reach 18 years old you are consider an adult, I have a 19 years old stepson and he already move out a couple a months back, he's working, paying for his college, apartment and a his car so he basically support himself w/out asking support from us, i think as long as you have the money to support yourself for your everyday life you can retired anytime you want,i would want to make my husband retired today but we cannot afford to live here in the US,he still working for his retirement its so darn expensive to live here.
