We use Bengay and advil to help us through pain. My mom takes tylenol arthritis and she says they work for her but I took some and htey didn't work for me. So I stick with advil. You cannot take tylenol though cause of your gastric bypass surgery. Well I guess advil is a no no to becuase it is a nsaid. Well,I read up and it says alternate cold packs with heat a deep heat. and also maybe the doctor can give you corticosteroid injection to ease the pain and stiffness and swelling you have. Try the ice packs but make sure to use a damp towel between your skin and the pack and after 20 minutes try a heat pack or maybe you can use a damp towel and a blow dryer and if you have musle rub that might help take the swelling and stiffness out. Well I hope something works for you.

Oh Ok, I just thought that tylenol had aspirin in it. My mistake. Well then you may have a infection in the knee maybe? Do you have a heating pad and ice packs? I remember my grandpa using them when his leg hurt him after he had a car roll backwards over him and hurt his leg. I hope you get something to help it because nobody should be in pain that long.

I have arthritis really bad in my right knee and when I had it checked by the doctor, I was given a cortizone shot which helped some. He also told me to take Aleve for it every day and that does help. I have quit taking it every day but I take it if I know that it is going to rain or something that I think will cause it to flare up. I hope that this helps with your question.
