I was sorting through my socks and underwear...

and it started one of those silly thoughts. You know how soft and lush brand new socks are? Comfortable and stretchy and just really nice when they are new? LOL. Some of my socks are far from new and they've lost that new, soft, plush feeling. I guess I need to buy some new socks. How's that for an innocuous discussion?

If I feel that my socks are far from new, I would replenish new ones. It is more comfortable wearing old socks, but new socks do give a nice feeling too. Somehow I would prefer new socks to old ones. Go get new ones even though the old ones are not torn and tattered.

Hi esther. I also love to wear soft and comfortable socks whenever I'm staying at home. I don't like my feet to get dirty. I normally buy socks three times a year or waited for bargain sale. There are some socks that's ridiculously expensive. I guess its really time for you to buy new ones. Just make sure your old socks doesn't have any holes in it, LOL!

Do you wish you could just delete all of those old socks, and the holes in them, and the unmatched pairs? I sure do. I love new socks, but want thin short ones for the summer time. I have mostly white socks, but I will buy colored ones to go with my shorts in the summer. Of course the multipacks always manage to have one color that just is not in my color range. Save them to go under long pants, so they do not show. I wonder if we can find some reason to get deleted from here?

You're right...those multi-color paks always went with the current "color styles" and sometimes had odd colors I'd never ordinarily buy. Since I wear them mostly for work...who cares what color they are? LOL

Not so innocuous when I share my portion. I miss my knee socks. I had some that went with every pair of pants I owned. I had great footies also. Well the pants, footies and even the beloved socks are all gone due to a housefire that took everything. Love those socks my friend and I will slowly get new ones and miss my old ones.

Shocked and sorry to hear about your house fire! How awful! Things must be okay though, or you wouldn't be here. Socks can be a comfort thing, though, so that's why I think I need some new ones. A little pick me up! LOL Simple pleasures...

I would say things are just ok. I had to go get a title remade to my van and then go get my license done since the purse was lost also. I am healing and the kids are fine. Hubby was safe at work. I go for new part time job tomorrow. Wish me luck. Then I can buy me new knee socks!!

It is easy to just overlook the condition of these items. But I know what you mean. After so many wearings and washings, they lose their luster. I hate it when a still decent pair of socks gets a hole in the heel.

Well, we have all got to hit a discussion wall sometime. : ) At least a lot of people can relate even though we might not know what to say. I got these house socks that are meant to be plush, but after 10 washes, even they lost the 'plushiness.'

What I hate from sock is when they get a divoce and one of them runs off with someone elses mate. I have piles of mismatched socks. I wish they would "just get along" and stay married. I have been married for almost 30 years why can't the sock last at least a year? When my divorce they are still newly weds. Maybe I need to get them premarrital counseling. Maybe it's the spandex that is in them you know the the matierials from the wrong side of the road. LOL
