"Sqeegee kids" scare me.

I was sitting at at stop light in a very busy intersection in Toronto, and these kids with squeegees smeared crap all over my windshield, and made it worse then it was. It was worse than it was before they "cleaned" my window. I was so intimidated by them though, I gave them money. What should I have done?

Turn on the windsheild wipers (and the spray) and rev up the engine ominously. Translation: I can clean my own windows, so get lost before I run over you. See if that helps. If that doesn't work, give them the finger, or point a handgun in their general direction (if you have one available). They'll get the point. If they pressure you to give them money anyway, tell them you have no money, sorry. Suggest that they should ask whether people have money first. Better yet, ask 'do you take visa?'

I hate them too, i always say no. usually here they are men though, not kids which makes it more frightening. if i were you i probably woulda given them the money too, who knows what they could have done to your car if they got angry!

That's how I felt. I wouldn't even feel so bad about giving them money if I felt they were really in need. But, I have heard stories about suburban kids coming to the city and doing this to make lots of money. Apparently they can make a lot more money than making 8.00 an hour working at a "McJob".

I haven't seen that since I visited my daughter in CA! I guess if you gave them money they did a good job huh? NOT...I would have been intimidated too and honestly don't know how I would have handled it. I would like to say I would have shooed them away but who knows?
