Today was another house dress day.

Indeed, I have become my grandparents. at the age of 35, I enjoy sitting around in a house dress. I kind of remind myself of the nursing home patients I took care of for a decade, and I think it is funny! I always told myself, I'll never wear one of those! But, indeed I am. I put together a shelving unit today, and it was a real pain! it has those tabs on it, that are supposed to "miraculously" fall into place. Um, they just aren't working right, bottom shelf fell off,in a comical moment! And, I doubt it can hold up to 1000 lbs. the shelves are maybe 1/4th inch thick, kinda cheap! I then went about cleaning up my kitchen, which took all of 15 minutes. It looks pretty good now! I had a lot of dried goods on top of the fridge that I transferred to the shelf, and put my kitchen antiques on top of the fridge, which actually looks pretty good! It will keep the cat from knocking them down. now, to work on the living room! (maybe next week).

Sounds like you had a pretty comfortable day. I would love to spend my day in a housedress, but alas, my schedule (even though I'm a SAHM) doesn't allow it. I will tell you, I take off my "upper gear" as soon as I can because it gets too uncomfortable. Have a great rest of the day!

OH yeah whenever I come home after going out the upper gear is the first thing removed. That is uncomfortable no matter what anyone says. Who ever said they are to last 18 hours obviously never wore one that long.

This is too funny! I had the bra topic going three months ago. (ha ha!) and, you know I am barely a "C" cup, so why the heck am I hurting so bad? I'll tell you why! they put those stinkin' wires in the bra, and I can't go bra less, because I don't like people staring. especially the guys.yeesh!

It sounds like you have been busy putting up your shelves. When I started reading your post I thought you must have been having a lazy day but no. Also 35 is very young so don't put yourself in the same class as the patients at the nursing home, make sure you are still having fun and getting out and about. Don't slip into being old before your time.

well you know, I actually have an interesting comment to make on that one, so I guess I am glad you brought it up! I don't know a lot of people here.We moved here less than a year ago. I joined a Pentecostal church, and thought they were a little off their rocker, so I quit going. Then, my husband had this friend who had this Nordic group, so we went, and haven't been back since, for whatever odd reason. so, then we made friends with one of the maintenance guys in our building, and of course, he is just an acquaintance we know, and who pops in every 6 months or so. LOL! I made a friend at work, and, OMG,she was looney tunes, especially after her husband left. after she assaulted me, I just kind of gave up on people, for the moment.ha ha! The job I just knew in my heart of hearts I had, wasn't as secure as I thought it was, so boom! here I am, an unemployed housewife. however, my hopes is that this is only temporary. It is nice wearing a housedress and staying home though. I like it! Indeed, I would say, everyone needs to take time out for themselves.

If I'm not leaving the house I always wear a house dress. I was actually able to recently get a caftan, if you remember those. I love it and it's very comfortable. Does it make me look stunning? um no but I enjoy it. Sounds like you had a productive day. If you want you can come over and help me with all the projects I need to get done. Just takes so much energy to do them all. I have a few I keep putting off. I have yard work that needs to be done and I'm hoping to get to them this week.

And I thought I was the only one lol. I was the one who dressed everyday untill I moved in with my now husband, he says if we aint going out why bother to get dressed? so its jammies for me and I have found I like it to be comfy all day is great. Only thing is if the ups man comes he askes my hubby do you work nights? ,he just tells them no but dosnt elaborate. we also live in the country so we can sit on the back deck in out jammies although im sure someone will find us there someday.

Oh, this made me smile. We all become exactly what we say we won't become. I always want to slap myself when I say something to kids that I said I would never say. When I tell my husband something in a way my mom would say it, I cringe because I know what has happened. Thanks for sharing this little tale.

LOL~ that is so funny. As soon as I read your title of this discussion, I immediately pictured my grandmother in her house dress! I am 43 and I think I am turning into my nana. The other day I was outside in the sunshine and had to put a sweater on. I told my kids, "Look out, I am turning into a nana!" I guess it happens to all of us.
