Do you use your own dishes to feed your pets?

Or did you go and get them their own personal dishes? Some people get grossed out if you use "people" eating dishes to feed a cat or other pet. As for me - it gets washed anyway, its handier -so what?

A friend of mine gave us some old dog food bowls that she didn't want anymore. We use these for the dry dog food that stays in the kitchen. We still allow our dogs to eat off of the same dishes that we use if they are going to eat leftovers. I agree with you I see no reason that they shouldn't because I am going to wash the dishes anyway. I look at it as a pre-wash cycle.

Yes I use people dishes. My cat some how decided she only likes to drink water from a glass. She is a strange animal lol. So I use a glass and one of my bowls for her food. I prefer her to drink out her own than to drink from mine which is what she would do if I didn't put one down for her. I don't think it's gross at all. I agree; they get washed anyway.

Yes, if they dont have any water in their bowl, then they come after the ice in my drink and start lapping when I am turned away, In the hot weather, I always add some ice to their water every few hours.

My guys do not get table scraps ...so it is not really an issue in my house. But if I was to give them food it would go into their own bowls. I don't know...not a gross factor but just for GP.

Our dog stays outside most all of the time. He has his own dish. And a big pan of water that needs refilled almost hourly because it is so hot here now.

They have their own dishes. I for one am really not keen on letting my pets eat directly off of and lick the same plates that we eat with. I don't like it, and I hate when people here do that. I love my pets and all, but letting them eat off our plates is something that I don't want my pets doing.

Nope. If I had a pet I would because it's nice to allow them to eat of clean things. I know some people use dog bowls which look horrible and some are to lazy to wash them but I would. I'm actually thinking of getting a cat or dog when I get my own place :) Would nice to have something my son could grow up with. ~Joey

I buy for my pets their own dishes, but sometimes they eat something from my dishes. I have no worries especially about the fact, that my rat eats something from my teaspoon, or drinks from my glass. My rat lives in our house without contacting any other animal. There's no way to be infected for my "Ratella":) I can be a source of infection for her, hehe, because I spend a lot of time out of the house;)

Hi Bee! Pets at my home have theirown personal dishes. I think it is advisable to because of hygenic reasons. We also teach them discipline so that they won't use any other dish than theirown.

All our kritters have their own dishes. The cats have silver metal bowls for their food, and the dogs have big plastic pet food dishes. They al have little ponds in the garden that they drink out of unofficially, but there is a big plastic bucket I keep filled up for the dogs to drink from so thealways have fresh water at hand. I have no idea where the cats drink from, but I am always catching them in the kitchen sink licking leftovers off dishes, the little devils!
