My husband and I have been haveing this debate since we met each other back in highschool, whether miracle whip is better than mayonaise. He thinks that mayonaise is better, however I disagree and like miracle whips sweetness. We'd like to know what you think about this daily battle we have, do you like mayonaise or miracle whip better? Why?

Miracle whip makes me a little sick to my stomach. It seems really artificial. I like mayonaisse. My gran sometimes makes fresh mayo and I think its called avioli or ayola, something like that. Its alot better then what you get at the store, but you have to use raw eggs so its dangerous unless you knw the chickens are healthy.

True, enough you'd be on my husbands side. I have a feeling miracle whip is going to lose, but would you mind giving me the recipe for that home made kind it would be a good surprise for my husband.

Aioli: 1 egg. Add 4 cloves garlic mashed with 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil. Be careful the raw egg is safe!

I was raised on the off brand of miracle whip, I think they call it salad dressing. However it was what i've become accustomed to, and i get sick at regular mayonaise. So my husband is stuck sometimes when he's making sandwiches, because he has to remember to put miracle whip on mine. Its weird, but normal.

I ahve always liked Miracle Whip better. Both my children ate it but since they are grown they prefer to use Mayonaise. They tell me Miracle whip is nasty. So I keep a jar of both on hand for the times that they are over. If they don't like MW they can have the Mayo. So everybody is happy!

Because it is less fat, my mom always used Miracle Whip. So that is what I was used to. However, once I ate a BLT and I hated it. I thought it was Miracle Whip that had gone bad, but come to find out it was regular Mayo and NOT Miracle Whip. The mayo wasn't old, I just didn't like the taste. It tasted too heavy.

I like Miracle Whip better, it's tangy. Unfortunately, it's also more expensive than mayo, so I generally buy mayo just to save a few dollars, but if I'm ever at my parent's house making BLT's, I'll dig into their Miracle Whip stash and splurge! :) Besides, doesn't your husband know that the woman is always right? ;)
