Don't you just hate it when.....

People post discussions on Mylot about some major milestone they have reached here. For example I've just hit the 2000 post mark but you'll never see me mention it or go on about how much time and effort I've put in here, even though it was a lot. I'd also never bring up the fact that I still have a 10 star rating even after all those posts....really, the lengths some people will go to just to get a little acclaim....something I would never stoop so low as to do.

LOL lovely use of sarcasm and irony. congrats on your 2000 number and you're pretty blue star. 2000 is a major milestone. I recently hit 700 and couldn't believe it. Happy posting to you, and definitely happy mylotting. However...i wonder how many people will take your discussion the wrong way? LOL

LOL i know it's going to happen. I've noticed that i have to be careful sometimes when expressing sarcasm and irony in written word. Some people just can't see it. If it happens i hope you'll come back and tell me, i'd like to see it. LOL

I know what you mean, some people on here are all me, me, me,me,me! They think it is great to post comments about their ratings and how lucky they are to have stayed at a 10. I think discussions like this are futile and should be banished forever. If you ask me its just a way to get a pat on the back and make themselves feel big. I would never discuss the fact that I still have a 10 rating even though I have been on risky discussions, or that I have best responses coming out of my ears. And to talk about how my number is going up by the day because I make such meaningful contributions to this site would be unheard of. Shame on all these people!!

I agree totally. I would never in a millions years go on about myself the way some people do.

like you, I could talk about the number of friends and best responses I have, not to mention the fact that I am now on my way to 3000 posts but really, who wants to hear all that?

High five inked, you are funny! 2,000 thats great, I myself am trying to reach 100. They keep taking pts. away and I can't seem to reach my goal. At this rate it will be along time before I get to your milestone. And....How do you get a STAR anyway? Congrats! Peace!

*wink* Brilliant. Simply brilliant. Yeah, perhaps the SARC tags were needed. But again, it is so entertaining to read the serious, heartfelt responses! (GLAD) Please, whether you choose to tag your tongue-in-cheek posts or leave them for others to decide, by all means, keep them coming! Oh, and I can't remember if I told you before (when I saw the pic of you and your children on one of your posted discussions) your quite a swell looking group! In fact, you actually look 'normal'....I didn't expect that! Ha! Just kidding!

I just gave a laugh when I saw such discussions in my email notifications. If it is from a friend whom I know works hard for it by posting responses, I will give some encouragement in response. However, if the friend happen to be a spammer in my eyes, I find it meaningless to say empty words or that my response may indirectly encourage them to spam more. LOL.

WTG on the 2000 post mark....does that mean your rich now!lol I rather this kind of post instead of complaining and whining about something. Everyone needs a pat on the back once and a while. Good for you!

well u say u wouldnt stoop so low but my dear friend you just did right now. and then there is absolutely no harm in telling people about wat u have achieved. they just do so because they have worked hard for it and just wand that their friends and other members just pass a word of congrats and encouragement to them. you know , a single word of praise to anybody on his hard work makes him very happy and he strives hard to achieve more in future.

But isn't this doing so without actually doing it? Heehee! I kid, I kid! But now that I'm here, congratulations on the 2000th!! And on keeping that mighty nice 10 star! =P To be honest though I prefer milestone threads over the "oh, woe is me" ones where people are begging for +es because their rating went down or their discussion got removed or something like. I much prefer to celebrate than be guilt-tripped into giving someone a + that probably doesn't deserve it. Anyway, enough rambles! Congrats again :D

I do hate it so. Look at me, did you see any post when I hit 1000 posts? No. At 500 I only posted that I hit that mark so I could tell people I could now copy and paste. Yes, it is hard being so humble when we contribute so much to this site.

well i believe you. you wouldnt stoop so low as to mention very thoroughly that you have reached 2000 post mark, or that you have a blue star rating, or that you have put in a lot of effort. thats quite noble of you, just to mention it in single lines, rather than writing paragraphs, so that you dont get acclaim but a do get a little fame. i mean whats the use of all this hard work, if you are not famous. right? lolz. great humour! you can rate me for reading between the lines. lolz

I do agree, let's just be thankful not everyone feels they have to put their whole life story out there. Some things should remain at home!!

*glances up at your discussion and upon seeing no SARC tags immediately assumes you are on the up and up and not being sarcastic at all* Yes, really how nice of you not to talk of your milestones. :)
