MP3 Songs - Do you prefer to burn on CD or keep on Hard Disk?

My Song Collection - How do you prefer to have your MP3 songs' collection?

I always keep all my mp3 songs on the hard-drive. It gives me convenience of listening to any song at any time, without having to bother for searching it on a CD and then inserting that particular CD. How do you prefer to store your mp3 song collection?

i do both, i will upload a collection on to the system but also burn off a cd or put them on my ipod. I always keep a copy on file but burn one too just in case my system crashes and i have to re write. I also do this with photographs

it is always best to do it this way. we can still listen to our favorite music even if the computer is out by making use of the player that we have around.

I preferred both. Sometimes having it burned in cds is useful when you are outdoor.

I'm still not sure what this technology is. How does it work, what do you do? I know there is a player but I don't know what you do with it. Someone showed me yesterday what he can do with his but it was all meaningless. How did he get the songs on the player? Did he take it from one of his CDs? The radio? I'm lost. They are very expensive leittle items and there are variations I've noticed. Is it like a walkman. This fellow had his little thing attached to his stereo and he said he could also attach it to his computer. What are these things used for? I can play my CDs on my computer. That suits me fine. I can play the CD or copy the music onto the computer and just play from there. Very easy. What's it all about? Can you explain to a silly middle aged lady? LOL.

I actually prefer to have mine on CD but although I have them on my hard drive I only think to burn them about once a year when I get tired of a CD I am listening to in the van . I can't seem to find the time to get myself to burn a copy even though it doesn't take all that long to do and just recently had to get rid of all the songs I had on my computer becasue I had to much stuff on it and my computer was runnning so slow as a result and now am wishing I had burnt off some CD's because I don't like the CD I have in the van to listen to anymore .

I also prefer to keep them on my har disk. Though i always make a backup of them by burning them to a CD and then keeping the CD at a safe place. This way i dont even lose my songs and the CD also doesn't get damaged while always inserting and taking it out. I have got a good collection of songs and all of them i have got off the internet.

My hard drive is split into two partitions. Drive C, the active drive, is 32 GB, and I reserve it for my main programs. Drive D comprises about 80 GB, and is used to store all kinds of stuff. By minimizing the contents of the active drive, I can backup my entire operating system in Acronis and save the image to a single DVD. Anything else, particularly that which I value, I can categorize in backup libraries.

I prefer to keep them on hard drive, exactly for the reasons you say. BUT... I also back them up on CDs, so that I still have them if the hard drive fails, as sometimes happens (it's happened to me before).

I download all music to our Ipods and then leave it on the hard drive- When the hard drive starts to get full- I put on discs- but only sometimes- by then I'm sick of those songs anyways- It sure is easier finding music if it is saved to the hard drive- but the cd's you can take places and listen to in vehicles.

I prefere to have my downloads on the computer too. recently we had to do a major cleanup in order to free up some space on the hard disk. I did burn some CDs and remove a lot of my music. But I still have a lot left.

I bought an external hard drive to store music and videos. It was the best thing I've done! I've not my computer with a lot of files and running slow.

I used to prefer burning my songs on CDs but then I've got so many songs and it's just not practical to store so much CDs for me so now, I save them all in my hard drive and upload them in my iPod. :)

I keep all my songs on my harddrive and my ipod. I agree that it's very convenient and since I'm one that's prone to losing things, CDs (data CDs or music CDs) are a bother to keep track of in terms of location. On a side note, I see your music collection is Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. Nice! Hearing those songs makes me feel nostalgic.

I prefer to leave them on a hard-drive because I think they are alot safer there than on a CD.

if you are an avid collector of music and that is your passion like me, i would suggest you keep it on your disc for safe keeping just in case your pc breaks down ,at least you can still listen to your favorite songs but if your concern is about space and convenience , i would suggest that you store it in a separate listening device such as an ipod or a creative zen vision W with a whopping 30 t0 60 gigabytes of storage space.another option is for you to keep it on a separate or an external harddrive. i am planning to migrate my songs to an iomega 250 gig external hard drive and just plug it in if ever i would use it for security incase my laptop needs some additonal space or if it breaks down, they have their peak productivity.

we keep our cd's but my children prefer to listen to music from the computer. kind of two functions in one. doing computer things while listening to music at the same time from one instrument, the computer.

All my music is on my hard drive, or it is burnt to cd. I am going to clean my computer soon though and I won't put any music on it again...too much viruses in there.
