Try as I might to keep it clean and dry, my 2 month old's neck always seems to be red and irritated. What can I put on her skin to keep it from chapping? I've thought about putting Desitin...

I have the same problem with my 3 mo old son. believe it or not vasoline works like a charm. that will be your best friend with your little one and it works for all sort of different problems.

Take this as another vote for A&D ointment. It is good for the skin and keeps it lubricated without the petroleum. It's a healthy skin choice for healing and protecting from chafing.

I would use either vasoline or neosporin.

My son had the same problem. Just wash it often, and make sure you dry it also. Everytime the baby eats, check to make sure formula didn't drip down his/her neck. Also, if the baby drools alot, that will also make its way down into the folds.

Try using A&D ointment. It should help a bit better than Desitin. I hope this helps.

when my daughter was in the hospital she had that problem they gave her nyastatin powder so maybe ask your docter for some of that it would have it cleared up in no time.

It is best to keep the irritated area as clean as possible and apply a baby lotion, petroleum jelly or a light barrier ointment to protect the skin

Hi 1hipmomma! It me again. Try Dr. Smiths diaper rash ointment. I use it for everything, even mosquito bites and my husband uses it for heat rashes he gets when he sweats. I learned about that ointment from the daycare my oldest daughter went to and it is better that any ointment out there like Desitin, A&D, etc. But I have also heard that vasiline is great too. Good luck. Lucia
