I won a contest that gave me a free week at either Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida or at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. We want to go to both so badly, but my husband and I cant make up our minds! We kept changing every day - Please help us decide!

They are two different things entirely. I have been to both, Disney and Vegas, so here are my two cents. What are the tickets in Disney good for? Any of the theme park, or just one? If it's any of the Disney theme parks then you have a great selection of things to do. Rollar coasters, water rides, Animal Kingdom. There's great shopping and the night life at Pleasure Island and Churchstreet Station are great. Although I've been told Pleasure Island isn't as good as it used to be. But there is always City steet. Its a fun place to be. Like I said, lots of shopping and sites to see other then just disney related. Ripleys believe it or not, FAO Schwartz and all sorts of things on International boulevard. Ok, Vegas. Vegas is flash and glam. When I go there I don't feel relaxed. I constantly feel hyped up and ready to go. Not that it's a bad thing, but that's what they try to get you to feel. So you can spend money. Lots of shopping but it's very expensive stores. There are the shows of course, which I'm guessing your free trip might include one? I don't know. Some are good, some aren't. If you like to gamble, it's the place to be. the hotels are amazing in themselves. Just walking around and looking at the inside will give you a cramp in neck from looking up. I like the Paris hotel. Of course because I also won money there. I also like the Venice (there are gondala rides inside the hotel) and Treasure Island hotels. If you are a gambler, don't expect to get any sleep. It'll be 3 am before you know it and your still sitting at the black jack table. It's a world wind trip. Oh and if your a chocolate fan the hot fudge sundae at the Girdhelli ice cream store is to die for! So as far as I think, they are both good trips, just different. It depends on what kind of a vacation you want. But think of it cost wise. Disney is usually very expensive in terms of hotel and tickets to the theme park. Vegas can also be expensive, especially if you are a gambler. So if you were to pay for it out right, would it be a more expensive trip to vegas or disney? And then take the more expensive trip free and pay for the other one at some other point. Good luck with this. I know it's tough.

Its Church Street Station that is gone down in the dumps. I was there 10 years ago before they began this urban renewal thing there and it was a great place to party. Since then I've heard nothing but put downs about it. PLeasure Island I've heard nothing but praise since they renovated it to include Cirque du Soleil.

Thanks. It's been about 5 years since I've been to either one. But I do know they took the country club out of Pleasure Island. And I always had fun in there!

Three weeks and you don't know where to go? That is a touchy but I'm sure Florida is nice this time of the year. Vegas is also nice if you like fancy and light bright places but not for those who want a bit of quiet and have an addiction to gambling! Have a great time where ever you go! ~Joey

Oh boy what a choice. I'm not sure which I'd pick. I've been to Disney World but I haven't been to Las Vegas. Both have it's allure. I think for me it would depend on what all goes with the trip. Las Vegas could get expensive really quick with gambling. At least at Disney World you don't have to buy extra for the rides type thing. That would be something I'd look at. If it comes with spending money that's different but if not I think I'd go with the Disney because it might be more free for me then the other.

I am not a Vegas kind of person, I have seen travel shows for it and I watch and say I would love to go there, but when it comes down to it. I would rather go to Disney. I am risk averse - so gambling is not something I would really get into, but I hear the shows are great, but are the shows included in your trip or would it end up costing you and arm and a leg to go to Vegas. What can I say, I am a kid at heart. Go to Disney. I must admit, I took my son there 10 years ago and I had the greatest time in the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon.

Congratulation! If I were you, I would choose Las Vegas, which will be a nice place to visit; as Walt Disney is more suitable for children. But if you still reluctant to make a decision, you can write down these two places on 4 pieces of paper; fold them and pick one so that you can make up your mind where to go. Sometimes I will do in this way when I am undecisive. LOL

Congratulations on your winning!! That is awesome! I have been to Walt Disney World way too many times, so I would choose Vegas. You do want to keep in mind if you go to Vegas, you will probably spend a lot more money gambling (or you could win) then you would spend in Florida. Have fun!

Because of the rarity of it, I would love to go to The Excaliber, you simply can't go wrong in Vegas! :) So much to see and do... odds are that one day you might win a contest to go to Disney World again in the near future, because there are contests for it all the time... but Vegas? Wow! :)
