American-Japanese trade friction

Washington-American trade officials say the United States may order measures against Japan,if Japan fails to open its markets to American tobacco products.The trade officials said the United States may act if Japan does not move by next month to open its markets imported tobacco products.American and Japanese trade officials began new talks Tuesday in Tokyo on the tobacco issue.They also are discussing opening Japanese markets to American machine tools and car parts.
