What's the best blogging software available freely or at low cost?

well you could use blooger but if ur interested in doing it yourself then a program called LifeType is around i use it and dont have any problems..

Wordpress, bar none. It's free, just download it, follow the installation instructions and you're good to go. Download it at http://www.wordpress.org -- This assumes you want to run it from your own domain. If you want to use one hosted by another site, try http://www.wordpress.com for that. Blogger, in my opinion, is way too basic. No way to classify posts and the publishing can be really kludgy. I like the way Typepad looks, but for more than basic you have to pay. Wordpress is full-featured and free.
