Pronger Suspended Again

After his elbow to the head of Dean McAmmond last night, the NHL suspended Chris Pronger for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. This is the second straight round that he caused a head injury to an opposing player in the third game of the series. I actually saw the hit live and it was painful to watch with the elbow to the head and the fall to the ice with the players head hitting the ice. I wasn't surprised to see #25 on the replay. I'm surprised that he only received a one game suspension. Repeat offenders are supposed to receive multiple game suspensions, but they may have gone easy on him with it being the finals. I really hope that the Senators can pull even in the series...I really do not want the Ducks to win the cup.

I was just telling a friend that if I were Gary Bedman I would have given him two games.I hope The Sens can do what Detriot couldn't, take advantage of Pronger's absense and win the game.Knowing The Ducks , they will try to play a little tougher game but they will go a little too far. And they should know by now that giving The sens a powerplay is playing with fire. The Sens can and will play a hard hitting game and they are home so they Should win.Go Sens.

It really should have been 2 games because of the repeat offender rule. Hopefully the Senators won't take this game as a gimme without Pronger. As they showed against the Wings, the Ducks aren't going to lie down just because Pronger is out.

Gary Bettman isn't the one in charge of making that kind of decision. Colin Campbell is the guy who hands down the punishments. Either way, i still can't believe he got away with it during the game, and then once again got a wrist slap of a suspension afterwards. This time wasn't like Homer's hit. McAmmond likely won't play until game 5, and that's being optimistic. Pronger should have to sit as long as McAmmond is out.

Rabi9634,on second thought Pronger should have to sit for two games and be fined three regular season game checks.

I am glad to see him get suspended for that hit, not only because I am a Sens fan, but it sends a message that this kind of behavior will not be allowed and it hurts the sport. I think that is perfect timing that this happened as that board of goveners are in Ottawa today to talk about that very subject

It's good that they are being consistent in dealing with head injury cases. Too many players have had their careers ended too early because of concussions. I hope that the Sens win tonight...I would really like to see them win the Cup over the Ducks.

I don't think they're sending much of a message. All of the garbage they spout about hits to the head being intolerable, and this is how they enforce it. I hope the Sens take game five, then go back to Anaheim and CRUSH their cup dreams. As cool as it would be for the Sens to win it at home, nothing would make me feel better than to see Anaheim blow it in front of their own fans.
