In northern Scandinavia we often have lots of them this time of the year but some years there are very few. I am so happy that we have not malaria - otherwise we would get it all of us.. Have you mosquitos where you live?

Indeed we do! I live in the Philippines & I guess that mosquitoes are really a worlwide concern--especially since they are so difficult to eliminate & are carriers of disease... usually for us here, it's basically a year-round problem since we basically only have 2 seasons--the rainy & the summer seasons--& they can be pretty vicious especially during the rain season wherein lots of stagnant waters acculumulate... Here, dengue cases are more common than malaria (since different species of mosquitoes bring about these diseases--hehe if my thesis research memory serves me right! ^_~--yup--my thesis was actually about mosquitoes--or rather a way to try to eliminate their larvae using a particluar plant extract) Anyhow--I just really do hope that someday, mosquitoes can be really controlled especially since they are mighty resistant insects & can be really deadly--I guess that really minimizing their breeding places is one sureshot way of preventing them to spread more diseases....anyhow, sure do hope that you have a mosquito-free week!! =)

Yeah, if the man could go as far as the moon - they should be able to control these small insects as well. There must be something in the nature, plants, or maybe they would have natural enemies that could help to control them.

I totally agree with you on this one--scientists must be able to come up with a surefire way (taht's also target-specific) in wiping out the mosquito problem, especially since these insects are such a threat--hopefully someday they do! =)

Yes, we have mosquitos where I live. I live in Florida. In the USA. We have about 25 different kind of mosquitos. Yuck!! I hate them. They are silent and cause me to itch all over and leave red bumps. We don't have malaria here either. I am gald it is not in my area. I feel sad for th people that live in the area where it is at. You would think will all the technology that the world would be able to wipe malaria out.

there are times when we do have mosquitoes here in our area. but as early as possible, we try to eliminate possible bearing areas for them. there was one time when it was in the news that a barangay from our town has a high level of dengue patients. so what we did was to fumigate our place. it is better to do necessary precautionary measrues than to suffer in the end.

I hope you get rid of the problem, there must be some ways to do it without posoning people or other animals. Let´s see what can invented by the scientists in the future.
