I've been on a diet for 3 months now. And until today, it worked perfectly (I lost 12kg). But now, ever since last monday, I've been gaining weight. I'm eating exactly the same quantity of food, and still, I'm getting fatter!!!! Please help me! Tell me what can I do!!

How often are you weighing yourself? I ask because you said you have been gaining since last Monday, and that's only a week. The human body weight fluctuates up to 7 pounds from day to day. There is no need to worry about the difference in one week. The body can hold more water for various reasons. Hormones also effect scale weight a great deal. If indeed your weight loss does stall for a while longer, it may mean that you have hit a plateau. When you hit a plateau you can overcome it by simply making some changes. Upping the intensity of your exercise, and, more importantly, cleaning up your eating justa bit more can make a difference and get you over that plateau. Please let me know if you have questions about that. Sarah Brown www.sarahpersonaltraining.com

Thanks everyone! I went to see a doctor early today, and he explained to me that I wasnt eating enough, so everytime I ate a bit extra, my body absorbed and saved as much as it could. He also said that it is really important to eat according to your activity levels (the more you exercise, the more you must eat); and that no one should stop eating ever! If you want to lose weight, eat less and exercise more, but NEVER stop eating...

Ah, yes. Not eating enough is a very common problem for people trying to lose weight. I have MANY women come to me who can't lose weight because they are simply not eating enough. I assume you are planning to increase your calories. I work with a lot of people on this. One thing that I will caution you on is to increase them very slowly. Most people simply try to eat a lot more of of a sudden, which can result in noticable weight gain--very frustrating! Increase in tiny incriments. It will take time but it will improve your metabolism and your ability to lose weight.

actually i think to constantly lose weight you have to have at least 1 treat a week or so ..have you been up moving more? exercising? or just dieting? (i'm on a diet also) maybe post a list of what you are eatting daily so we can go over it and try to see whats changed or not changed over the last little bit? do you use any online tools to track your progress?
