Do you do grocery shopping at one store or do you go for the "specials" at different stores? Do you think Walmart has the market cornered since you can do almost all of your shopping there?

If I know where I can get some things cheaper, than I would go for the "specials". Money doesn't grow on tree and I don't have a father who owns the country's mint. If I can get something cheaper elsewhere (and if it is not too much of a bother), I would rather walk a few more steps.

Amen to that. One good thing is that where I live there are several place from which I can choose without spending too much time or money.

I do not do all my shopping at one store. I will look for bargins and buy things where I can the bargins. Like I go to Dollar General and Family Dollar for my cleaning supplies. Everything is cheaper there. Even cheaper than Walmart. But when I do this. I make sure all my shopping will be done in one day. Or I do it on my way to somewhere. That way it doesn't cost me anymore in gas.

I buy the name brand stuff at the dollar stores. They are less expensive than buying them at other stores. Even Wal-mart. So the ingrediants and everything are the same. I just end up with more money in my pocket that way. i don't belive in paying more for something. When I know I can get it cheaper else way.

I have done some dollar store shopping before. Then one of our local tv stations discovered that some products sold there were not as good or had different ingredients than the "regular" stores. Sometimes the differece was minimal sometimes not.

Around here I have noticed that WM must keep an eye on what other stores are charging for the "popular" items cause they seem to always be 6 to 9 cents cheaper on those items. Since we have a WalMart and a Kroger across the street from each other it is easy to hop over to the other store. As a rule I try to stay in a small area range. I usually dont go all over the area to save a few cents.

I do all my shopping at walmart unless its something that I know dollartree has and I can save on it there then I go there. I like just going in dollartree because sometimes you can get some good deals in there.

I really havent done much shopping at the dollar stores. So much of what I see is nothing I really want. I keep seeing stories about possible products sold there. Sometimes the ingredients are a little different.

I've been flip-flopping on this lately, having recently moved to an area where I have the option of shopping around for specials. However, I've discovered that my schedule really only allows for me to buy the bulk of my groceries at a single store, and then head to a different store for basic household needs, like toilet paper and toothpaste. About the only thing I will make a special trip for is fresh fruits and vegetables, because this area has a farmer's market nearly every day of the week. That is definitely handy for me! :)

That is a lot like me. I do most of our stuff at WalMart. My husband likes to get his sodas in the twist top plastic bottles. Every time we try to get them at WM they seem to be out. We prefer the meat and fresh fruit and veggies at Kroger which is right across the street from WM. That makes it easy for us! Thanks for your comment.
