how do you bead a horse's mane & tail?

I was wondering how to bead a horses mane & tail. Do you just braid them in? my mother-in-law's friend has a horse that she has been letting my ride when i go to visit and she wanted to put beads in the horse's mane and tail. i told her i could get the beads and do that for her....but i was just going to braid them in....is there any other ways of doing it. i looked online and havent been able to find anything. any help would be great!

You just add beads as you braid.You can slide the beads on a portion of hair..then braid ..pick up another small amount of hair..slide the bead on add to the braid ..Basicly if you are french braiding doen the neck just slide the beads on as you add the next portion of hair to the braid..Wish I could show you...hehe
