When the food are just too hot, and you're starving

Ok, I know this must sound silly for a discussion, but I've just bought this devine-looking chicken & mushroom pasta at the local bakery. The cheese is still bubbling on top, so I know it's hot. I don't have time for breakfast in the morning (I leave home for work at 5:20) and by now my stomach thinks my throat is cut. So I've started to eat the piece of fruitcake that was supposed to be my "desert". How do you handle it when the smell alone makes your mouth water?

No discussion is silly my friend and this is far from it, apart from making me hungry that is, I have burnt my mouth in the past because I have been too impatient to wait! Especially when I was a child, mum was always baking cakes and the smell used to drive me mad, one day I nipped into the kitchen and stole one of the cakes, and bit into it, OUCH! it was hot and I burnt my tongue, mum wasn't happy and sad it served me right, never stole another cake again! When it comes to food I am NOT a patient person!

hehehe, as they say, "that's the way the cookie crumbles"! I'm very impatient when it comes to good food. - Ronelle

I handle it with the pure strength of my will, or I would put the hot food near something cool (like a fan, the fridge, or I'd just blow on it myself) so it cools down faster and I can start eating it sooner.

I don't have strength of will when it comes to good food, but unfortunately, I don't have a heatproof mouth. I have even put food in the freezer before, luckily hubby didn't see, hehehe!
