I am a person who is very moved by smell. Smells cojure specific times, situations and moments for me. Summer has so many wonderful smells. (suntan lotion, fresh cut grass, flowers, hot garden soil, chlorinated water in swimming pools, salty ocean breeze, etc. etc. etc!) What is your favorite smell of summer? Why is this your favorite smell? What memories does it hold for you?

This is not really a summer memory (well Scottish summer maybe) but to me there is nothing better than the smell when the first few drops of rain fall. It really takes me back to my childhood in Scotland...lots of happy memories for me there...that and the smell of hashish which reminds me of the year I spent in a Turkish prison

I just like summer. I prefer days when the sun isn't to "hot" yet shining down and the wind blows nicely and you feel the benefits from going out and enjoy a stroll. (even if it's to the shops and back) It's always nice to smell summer.. roses, flowers, etc just a great time of the year. ~Joey

I love the smells of summer! Bonfires, BBQ's...My most favorite smell is when the fields out back are being cut for hay. The sweet aroma permeates the air and always takes me right back to when I was a kid. Baling hay is/was always a big part of the farm here in the summer time, and I have many fond memories of spending days on end working in the heat filling our loft for winter. Now I have guys that do that, lol, but I still love the smell from the fields.

Sorry but I love the smell of fall and all it seems to promise, leaves and fireplaces burning, Thanksgiving, Christmas, all the celebrations. IT get too hot here in the summer, today we had 90 degrees and about 75% humidity and it only the beginning of June!!

I don't recall many specific smells, except that in the summer it is often more humid and that brings out more odors. I always liked the smell from the Great Lakes which I have often visited during the summer months. And pines trees any time of the year are enjoyable. Even the smell of rain is nice. Any smell that reminds me of good times is nice to remember.

I totally get what you are saying. I know summer has arrived when I smell the hawaiian tropic suntan oil. I love that stuff. And the smell just totally relaxes me.

Well, that is just so good for you then. I do not really have any favorite smell of the summer. I just like it that it is finally here.
