What kind of washing machine would you suggest we purchase?

My daughter is going to be moving out and needs a washing machine. What kind of machine do you have and would you buy the same washing machine again? The washing machine I am using is no longer available, as mine is over 25 years old. Money is no object, as we want her to not have to replace it until she has a good job.

We have a Fisher & Paykel, which I believe are one of the best brands. They are very long wearing & heavy duty. It is a 5.5 litre capacity. If your daughter is living on her own, she wouldn't need this cpacity. A smaller one would be more convenient for her. Also, look into the energy efficiency level. I think at least three star rating, preferably four. Plus look for a washiong macine that recyles. Then your daughter will not only be saving on her electricirty costs, but her water bill & washing powder.

She won't need a big one, as she is single, so am looking for a smaller machine. Its important that its energy efficient, as there are discounts for buying the right kind. I posted this question, so I would have a list of brands to check out and appreciate all the help I'm receiving from my friends. Thanks for your help.

I would have to recommend a Whirlpool washing machine. I have had mine for a few years now and have use it alot. It is still going strong and I have never had any problems with it. I had GE washing machines before that and had alot of problems and they didn't last very long.

Thanks for the reply. I have heard back things about GE Washing Machines and don't want her to have a machine that can't be counted on now. I will look at Whirlpool.
