slapping someone in public

What do you think of someone slapping somebody, like a lover who she found out to be having an affair, or who she caught with somebody and walked over to that guy and slapped him upfront? Is that forgivable or not?

Forgiveable and appropriate under the circumstances, but be gentle and assertive instead of hostile and violent leaving a crushed cheek or borken jaw . . .

Nope it is not. Usually it is the girls who do it and get away with it. Society is so unfair with their differential treatment of the sexes. A girl slaps a guy in public, we think what did he do. A guy slaps a girl in public we think WHAT DID HE DO!!!! Either way it is wrong to embarass your gf in public like that.
