oh my! it makes me feel so bad for having so many emails in my inbox. i got more than 3000 right now. actually it was almost 5000 last month when i started cleaning it up and sorting and deleting some and got it down to 1300. then it increased again to more than 3000 coz i got so busy with work. i subscribed to a lot of newsletters and news alerts coz some are work related and also, i receive a lot of forwarded messages (inspirational, jokes) from my friends that i like to revisit from time to time when i can spare some time from busy schedule. i get to read the most important ones that requires immediate attention. however, i tend to put aside those that are not time-bound. my yahoo email right now is about 95% full actually. -lol- when you have finished with yours, i'd welcome it if you could volunteer to do mine... (just kidding). anyways, i already had it planned for clean-up this month... so wish me luck! goodluck on yours too! :)

Yikes, I thought I was worst and here you come. The first thing that I did was to unsubscribe to all the newsletters that I kept receieving and then started to clean the mess slowly but surely. Co z if these emmails that you kept recieiving are no longer important its best to stop them from sending you so that it wont acculmate the way it did right now. 5000 mails to clean is too much for me to handle. I suggest you do it gradually and in time you will be able to succesfully clean that unwanted mails and just keep the important ones. Take care my friend.

i did work it over lunch break and it's down to 2579. i've unsubscribed to those newsletters i haven't been active for such a long time. however, as i have a large number of family members and friends as well as colleagues... i couldn't keep it down to a manageable number... although i will definitely try. my friends are very fond of sending me lots of forwarded mails. it is my goal to clean it up this month and now that i've finished the biggest event at the office, i can definitely focus on that. thanks! :)

I have just returned from ten days in Australia and have 116, but I'm no where near as active as you. I don't think I could ever wade through 799. Good luck Zelmarg.

I clear my personal email account everyday. I am an organized person and I don't like having things left hanging. :P So unless I am not free, I check my mail everyday and keep my inbox clutter-free. ;-)

I was finally able to get my email down to 5 today!!! That's a big event for my email box. Funny thing, I was just getting ready to write about it when I ran across your article. Good luck to you and getting your email box cleaned up.

Well im still in the process of deltting and moving the mails to where they belong, I have decided to stop accepting alerts from mylot coz its the one which is eating up my space for emails and I guess I am solving 70% of my problem. Sigh I hope I am going to finish this within the hour. Take care my friend.
