This generation will be so different to anything you've experienced before and if you don't bother to get into their psyche then bury your head in the sand instead. Here is one simplistic article to get you started on your Generation Y knowledge http://www.learningtolearn.sa.edu.au/Colleagues/files/links/UnderstandingGenY.pdf I've just started to work with one and I'm delighted to give rave reviews, yet I can see others may think differently. Do you have any observations or comments?

Do you find it difficult? Do you have any gems to share on the new generation?

No I don't find it too hard we are young parents so I think that helps. They aren't that different from how we were as teens. Off the top of my head I can't think of any gems to share but if I think of any I will come back and share.

What an interesting article tetchie! I know I said this before, but here I go again. Why don't you start a hub at HubPages, this will make excellent material and as you progress you can let that particular hub be updated. It would be very popular among the highly intelligent hubbers, very pro-columnist, and the average intellectual. So please consider I know you will be a very popular. Based on your intelligent and insightful discussions here on MyLot. You are wasting your talents and robbing us! lol!!!!

Okay Annie, you have got your way. I've done it. But my hub name is Jewels and not Tetchie (hopefully the articles will be jewels as well).

Affectionately though, you are right and I needed coaxing to step out and be more creative. I am supposed to be in a phase of writing (according to that great astral wheel).

These Kids are the Hope of the Future! And I'm sure they will pull it off. They will never have to change the spark plugs in their cars, or milk a cow by hand. The biggest problem as I see it is that we are their only teachers! We have had centuries of instruction (passed along by our Parents and Teachers) and we certainly don't have a Handle on It!

We certainly don't have a handle on it do we. What type of example have we set for Generation Y. They will be trailblazers, forging paths that we haven't even thought of yet. Thanks barehugs.
