What kind of phobia you have? I have acrophobia which is fear of height. I feel scared in riding cable cars, i feel that i will fall down. I am trying to convince myself that nothing will really happen if ever i am in a high land, or on the rooftop. Step by step i am overcoming it. How about you, do you have any phobia? How do you think you can deal with it?

When I was young,I used to be very araid of the dark. This continued well into my teens.I wanted to try and get out of the fear myself because everybody would tease me that I was a scaredy cat.One day I just stood in the dark, and scared as I was,I stood there for atleast 10 mins.I felt that any moment something was going to grab me but nothing happenned.I did this for the next 2 weeks. After that I was never afraid of the dark anymore.I was also afraid of heights but once I started using escalators and travelling in flights, that fear too went away.I guess the trick is to confront the fear in the face which helps most.Hope you get out of your phobias too:)

The only real phobia I have is of lightening. I have a really hard time during a lightening storm. I just want to burrow or something. I've learned to talk myself out of the intense fear but I'm not always successful, especially during a severe storm.

I guess you must always have someone with you everytime there is a storm. I also have a friend like you, she is too scary of the thunder and lightning, she almost run-out of her place and don't know where to go, so i just told her have some music, say paly music on her discman, so her attention will divert to something else and might lessen her anxiety of the thunder and lightning.

Those are very good suggestions. I've started to distract myself by playing my hand-held video game (Gameboy Advanced) which works really well for me.
