lower abdominal pain in pregnancy

Okay, I am currently 16 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been having what I am assuming is just the uterus stretching, but it is kind of painful. I am assuming it is this and not contractions. Has anyone else had these pains this early? Is it normal? It almost feels like I am constipated and everything is just pushing down. I don't remember feeling this with my first pregnancy. Should I be going to see my doctor before my next appointment in a week and a half.

Sure its normal everything is pushing down but in saying that if you are that worried about it you should go to the doctor nothing is worse at this time than worrying. Go to the dr get check out and feel good about it.

Thanks for your response. I figure that is all it is. I don't have any bleeding or anything like that, so I am pretty sure it is just stretching and also that I am constipated somewhat. Everything feels like it has lifted up a bit.

I have already been feeling movement as well for the last few days, so I am not overly worried.

I would call my doctor now. It's better to be safe than sorry.

You probable should discuss it with you doctor. Even if you just call him/her. All your insides have to keep shifing around when your pregnant. I have had 4 and it seemed with each one, things got more painful and weirder....but don't stress too much...a simple call to your doctor should clear things up...Just make sure to eat a lot of fiber and drink plenty of water..

To be safe is best to go to your doctor and have him check it out. In my opinion you maybe having Braxton Hicks - which is also fake labor pains, it is caused by your uterus contracting, but is not real contractions.. you may need to increase your fluid intake, drink lots of liquids even when you are on the go, take water bottles with you. Eliminate caffeine and that should help a lot.
