Hologram Program To Take Away Please

Ok, so we're probably talking about 25th century stuff here, the kind of program we could only ever dream about or watch on scifi tv like Star Trek for instance but just imagine... You could develop a program which is totally holographic to act out your dreams and fantasies, a sort of anti-depressant, a program which could combat anger, stress, frustration and delve into your deepest dark fantasies and to act out revenge acts without getting 'done for it' No I'm not talking cuckoo here, you have a room where you can relive your past just by programming in the characters, the situation, the set up, the place, the time and you could relive your past through the program or have yourself beating up that nasty person you hate by creating a holographic image of them which looks, acts and talks For example I could program in the person who stole my mobile and I could get my revenge on him and it would be all programmable, now wouldn't that help? What do you reckon, would you like your own hologram program so that you can relive past or future events and if you get it wrong, you can reprogram it again and again and again Now wouldn't that be wonderful! So that's one chicken pizza and a bottle of diet pepsi plus a hologram to take away then is it?

Join the marines go to Iraq, spend two years. When and if you return your bouts with depression will be history.

This is an ironic reply right herrbaggs? Cos you do know that more people who have served in the armed forces suffer from depression and mental illness than any other demographic - they are just abandoned by those they defended!

Wolfie just get a copy of the sims 2 . Make you and make the person who took your phone and beat them up lol. Yeah that will work. At least part of your dream could come true. I would probably go back to the day My ex broke up with me. I would have done a few thins different. And hope for the best. I still miss him sometimes but not like I used too. I think what I miss most is how he called me beautiful. He would say "Hi beautiful" lol No one else ever called me beautiful that way . Oh but I did finally sell that buggy he made for me. Do you remember when I made a discussion about keeping it or selling it?? It has helped me move forward a lot. :)

At first I thought it would be a really good idea. I could live out the things I want to do without the risk of really jumping out a perfectly good plane. Or I could live my revenge without really doing harm to another. But at the same time....kids these days get so caught up in video games, that it is to blame for the increase of crimes because they are having a hard time separating video and reality. Would a hologram program make their altered reality perception dysfunction worse? But then when you mentioned chicken pizza...LOL I thought...Could I eat an entire pizza AND chocolate cheesecake and walk away with none of the calories but the pleasure of feeling as if I really did enjoy that meal? ha ha Ok! I'm in!!! I wanna be able to be gluttonous without suffering the weight gain and elevated blood glucose problems. ha ha

Ohh dear .. there are so many 'events' in my life I would quite like to 'try again' .. I'd need weeks with your hologram gizmo .. then again I sometimes think that's my problem in life .. I analyse things over and over and wonder how I could have done it better .. so maybe being able to reply things isn't quite the wonderful thing you might expect .. Now if you could design a natty little programme to 'nibble away' small chunks of brain where the things you'd rather forget are stored then that would be fantastic ..

Wasn't there something like this in one of the Arnold Schwartzenegger films? Something like total recall but newer, where they went back to their apartments and had scantily clad young ladies as their holograms. I don't really like the sound of that myself!! but the idea of reliving past events could be incredibly interesting and moving, but would we be emotionally strong enough to deal with the consequences. It's very interesting.

it is really very interesting...so you mean that the technology used in movies like flubber and paycheck already exist? do you think it will become very popular within the next 10 years? i really like that...it is like you can construct certain images and transform them to an almost real hollographic images which will enable you to intercact with...is really amazing...another big reason why nerds and losers alike will stay nerdier and lose more.

Only one problem honey and I really , really don't mean to rain on your parade but this is a really important point to me - I don't like any meat on a pizza and I can't drink diet juice! lol Apart from that what a wonderful idea! Revenge without guilt - fantastic! xxx

Hi Wolfie, It would be ok but I think it would be abused. It would be so great that many would stop living a real life and delve more and more into their hologram life that they would not be doing what they are here to do. I think it would have to be earned or limited some way.Like only used once a year as a vacation or no one would care what they did because they could hologram a different ending..I would fear life would lose it's value to some ... I hope we never get that far! Hugs

Well, that is certainly something to think about....the way the technology is going...I would not be surprised....and it does sound like you have put some thought into it, my friend.... Yes, I think that it could indeed be very beneficial....I might never leave that room.....LOL

I will be the first to say that I would totally love a device like this. But at the same time, it seems like it could be a bit of a Pandora's Box. It's like the mirror in Harry Potter that showed people their heart's desire--the head wizard said that people have wasted away in front on it. While something like this would be totally cool, and even theraputic, I think that if we could go back and rewrite our memories (or replay them) it could be bad. Some memories would be great to relive, but it is one of those things that you'd have to be careful with.
