I would recommend one of the Acer Aspire series with the new "gemstone" design because they look great and they have a good price/performance ratio.

I am really enjoying my Dell XPS M1210, which has a dual-core 2.0ghz 2gigs memory 120gig hard drive and nvidia go7400 graphics. I would recommend it.

I recently purchased a 1 GB 17" Crystal Brite ACER with Vista Premium, mainly due to the extremely cheap $649 price tag on it. I have been very impressed so far, although the battery life can be pretty flaky. I use it mainly to produce digital graphics through Adobe Flash or Photoshop and also use it for video editing in Sony Vegas. Hope that helped!

I like Dell and in fact I already have a Dell laptop. Its quality and the price is reasonable compare to other brands. Its service is also very good. I'm satisfactory with it.
