What Was The Most Profound Revelation You've Ever Had While Drinking Coffee?

Taking the time to thoroughly relax and enjoy a cup of piping hot coffee while stealing a moment to ourselves is one of the simple joys of life most of us simply can't live without. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, not a cloud in the sky...time stands still and it happens! A thought so profound your heart skips a beat and you turn around to see if anyone else heard it too. Did you solve the global warming issue? Discover the solution for world hunger? Come up with the idea for a best seller? Invent a new product? Uncover the meaning of life? Find a new use for duct tape? What was the most profound revelation you've ever had while drinking coffee?

I don't believe I've had any profound revelations while drinking coffee. Coffee is definitely worth waking up for, especially on the days when my husband has a day off, and he'll get up before me and make the coffee and bring me a cup of it in bed. I like to sit out on the deck when the weather is nice, and watch the birds when I drinking my morning coffee. I usually have no other thoughts then except that life is good.

i think that is revelation enough that you have found that life is good. actually, each morning, we always wake up to new revelations about life. those birds chirping on a nice weather is a welcome revelation for the new day and another revelation is that we are enjoying it.

The most profound revelation I have had while drinking coffee is that I need to get out of bed and get things done!~ LOL. I have come up with various writing subjects or tried to solve issues for my husband or kids. Trouble is they dont seem to want to listen to me. Then again, I did get the idea for a book. I've written some basic pages but will soon run out of time for that cause I need to find a job that pays real money.

Ah yes "The Great American Novel"... I have the basics of a murder mystery. Then I have a few plots for humorous stories of family life. I keep adding to them. Maybe one day I'll get them together. I've heard about ghost writing, even thought aboutit, but I think you have to be a "pro" for that. I'm still a novice at this game. But you never know.

I do not really have startling revelations when drinking coffee, I usually just think ugghh!! this coffee tastes like crap, and I wonder what chemicals they put in it?

Well, I don't drink coffee... but I do drink tea. No caffeine, though, so the addiction aspect isn't there. I don't solve the world's problems or anything. But my morning tea is about the only time I sit quietly, by myself and just look at the mountains in my back yard. It's the only time of day I am alone, sitting, quiet and just get a chance to breath. That, alone, is a revelation in itself.

Every day my husband and I have a wonderful converstaton while we drink our coffee. We talk about everything from work to what we want to do over the weekend so we must of come up with some kind of profound revelation I'm sure. :)

Hhehehe--the most profound thing I discovered is that it wakes me up...LOL....I'm a very slow riser and I just HAVE to have my coffee...it's the only time I do have it..for breakfast that is as alas I'm not really allowed to have too much because of the caffeine --but oh! If I discover my coffee supply is real low I virtually panic!!

While making a cup of coffee for myself & a hot chocolate for someone else, I accidentally put Nestle's Quik chocolate into my cup along with my spoonful of coffee. When I poured the hot water into the cups was when I thought I forgot to add the chocolate into the other cup. So I ended up adding the chocolate into the other cup afterwards. When I took a drink of my coffee & wondered why it was so tasty, I've been addicted to adding some chocolate powder to my coffee.

Yes, coffee is a known diuretic, which simply means to 'loose water'. Even water can be a diuretic if you drink enough!

Ok, well those two comments you just read didn't make any sense, LOL! I'm trying to get too many things done here all at the same time. Not having cut & paste is slowing me down, so I compose off line and retype, sorry guys. I also see that there is no delete function? What I wanted to say to you KrazyKingon is congratulations, you've inadvertently discovered Mocha! You can also substitute one tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder for the Nestle's Quik, sweeten to taste and add a bit of milk. Voila, Starbucks Mocha at home!

I agree with that idea of Starbucks at home, price-wise, anyway. I never really liked their coffee, but it's expensive. I guess for me, in this case, cheaper is indeed better.

I see, that you are a real coffee fan. Or rather a coffedrinking fan :) When I am drinking my coffee, I do not think anything, but the coffee. I hardly have a free moment to think about more. I rarely can relax while I am drinking. I usually drink my coffee early in the morning, because I wait some energy from it. Then I drink another one in my office, when I feel, that my mind is too slloowww. Now, it is morning time here, but I do not work today- I will listen to myself while I am drinking, and I will come back.

Thoughts with coffee, You're so vain, I'm looking at life from Both sides now... Suppose we changed the world and reduced our carbon foot print by reducing the amount of print published on paper? The thought of cutting the waste from each and every city around the globe, I'm certain that we can reduce a lot of carbon created by such things as Church on Sunday mornings. Think about other ways to conserve energy and resources. One way would be to reduce the amount of fuel wasted in today's combustion engine.

Reducing paper waste is at the top of my list of pet peeves too. I live in the Pacific Northwest where clear cutting leaves extremely ugly scars on the landscape and is despised by all. There are companies in the process of developing ways to use the left behind stumps and turn them into toilet paper. That should give us a hundred year supply at least! Now theres a good name for a new brand of toilet paper...'Left Behind', lol! And I'm not even drinking coffee right now;) We're very big into recycling, nothing gets thrown away unless it can really classify itself as something that can't be turned into something useful. For instance, plastic pop bottles are turned into plush fabric and carpeting. Hmmmm, I wonder if they got that idea over a up of coffee??

I think the most profound revelation I've had while drinking a cup of coffee is the coffee tastes superb while drinking but leaves a sour taste on my tongue after some time. hehehe... I sure had some good thoughts during those calm moments. Like once I had thought of making a mixer with a silencer....Pretty funny.
• Canada
11 Jun 07
LoL! A mixer with a silencer actually sounds like a great invention! Makes you wonder if R&D's ever hire women to give them honest feedback about what it is they're trying to develop, especially for products that have predominately female users, doesn't it? It's uncanny how many people mention that coffee leaves a sour aftertaste, have you tried switching brands to see if that makes a difference?

Yes, coffee is a known diuretic, which simply means to 'loose water'. Even water can be a diuretic if you drink enough of it. Did you know that you would need to drink 32 glasses of water to neutralize the acid in one cup of coffee?? That a LOT of trips!

I am very particular about my coffee. It is strange because I like my coffee very light with cream and sugar but it has to be strong coffee to begin with. I like dark, rich, European coffees. I put 3 mike and 3 sugar in a cup of coffee, I use instant so I can make it extra strong. I don't use cream because I think cream tastes weird once it gets warm, I like it cold on fruit or shipped cream but not in a hot beverage.
